After seeing it through reactors the 1982 version of Chain live is the best. You can tell the break up is still fresh as both Stevie and Lindsey put their ALL into that performance and basically verbally beat the shit out of each other in that performance. No other version imo compares to that one.

Stevie staring daggers at Lindsay always reminds me of all the drama from this group. Have a great summer Heline

The 1982 live performance had much more raw anger and angst, with no less musicianship. This is a late reminiscence about a very unhappy time in the lives of the participants. That they could write such a stunning song about their pain was amazing at the time, and still amazing now.

Those of us of a certain age will remember this as the theme to the BBC Formula 1bracing programme Imagine looking down a hazy racetrack, the music leads into the bass solo and you hear the engines revving then, as the high guitar solo starts, a F1 car appears out of a dip coming straight at you out of the haze. A lasting iconic memory for those of us brought up with it. And Fleetwood Mac with a string of huge hits from several albums - one of the greatest bands ever.

The often under-rated Christine McVie on keyboard and vocals is superb as always. Well worth checking out her solo work

One of my all-time favourite groups, masterful at thier craft and disfuntional sometimes as a group, internal affairs and drugs and drink finally took it's toll on the members, Rumours was an whole album's of truth. Love them.

This was originally from 1977 I think. In the late sixties the band was famous for it blues rock, with Peter Green as the lead guitarist. Famous Mac number from that era was Albatross. Green left, McVie married Christine Perfect ( keyboard and vocalist with another British blues outfit)who later joined the band until another schism found Fleetwood and Mr and Mrs McVie trying to put the band back together whilst other ex band members claimed the were the real Fleetwood Mac. They met a young couple by chance- Buckingham and Nicks- and the rest is history. Lots of muddy water under the bridge but the band survived into the 2020s making very sweet/ bittersweet music. Been listening to them since 1968.

The initial release was '77 on Rumours. This performance is from their "The Dance" tour in 1997.

I only saw them live one time in 79. I accidentally bumped into the band leaving the venue afterwards and Stevie Nicks shook my hand and asked if I enjoyed the show! I was stunned to say the least. My friend was jealous because he was talking to a security guy at the time and saw it!

This is from a full length movie they made at a concert called "The Dance". It's really good and it was the first time the band had assembled in a very long time. They had a rather stormy and emotional relationship amongst themselves.

One of the really good bands. Refreshingly unusual songs.

Harmony tight and wonderful. Also love the dynamic changes and sudden rests. Then great drumming in there too. I am a flutist AND a drummer/percussionist. Yes, strange combination, but I love both. Am also a vocalist. I tell all of the bands that I have played in that I can do any combination except vocals AND flute at the same time. Ha ha. Although Ian Anderson sort of does. Thanks for the review.

I highly recommend listening to the two Fleetwood Mac 0albums back to back with the White album followed by Rumours. There was a lot going on between the band members during the Rumours album that really comes out in the tracks. In my humble opinion these two are epic. Many thanks for sharing Heline.

Fleetwood Mac - one of the top 3 bands to come out of the 70s'. Stevie Nicks brought the power and the grit, Christine McVie brought the grace and elegance. Lindsey Buckingham brought vocal harmony and excellent guitar. John McVie on bass was as good a bass player anyone could ask for. John and Mic Fleetwood on drums anchored the music rock solid. Together, the 5 of them created some of the best music ever. Countless beautiful and meaningful songs. They were a cut above. This 1997 concert "The Dance" needs to be heard from start to finish. One great song after another. The sound and faces of excellence.

the greatest baseline in music history on the 2nd best selling album of all time (if you take out the greatest hits albums that are also in the top five). the album Rumours (from which this song is on) is stacked from top from bottom so much so that Silver Springs didn't even make the original Album. truthfully as much as they are amazing live, in my opinion these songs should be consumed from the album not live if hearing for the first time. they say sex sells and it does but Fleetwood Mac proves that love and heartache sell better. also, someone else on another video called Mick Fleetwood (the drummer) the happy Elmo everyone needs and it couldn't be more accurate description of him during this reunion tour.

This is a really good and entertaining version. However, the original studio version is much more haunting and portrays an upset and angry state of mind, which is how the song was intended to be.
