Late 60's to early 80s it just does not get any better and I doubt it ever will. Listening to the very same radio station you might hear this Kansas song and then Alice Cooper the next and then the Carpenters, The Beatles, AC DC, Molly Hatchet. It was just a never-ending mix of different creative genres most of which were outstanding! I think of all the music from that era that is almost lost to time from this generation like Atlanta Rhythm Section, Rare Earth, The Outlaws, Brownsville Station, Pure Prairie League, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, the older J geils Band. The list just goes on and on of bands that are almost forgotten.

Everytime I hear this song I start looking for "the road so far" from Supernatural...lol So miss that show!! But this is a great song. My mom raised me on classic rock and I have such a love for music because of her! Sad to say that now the music I listened to in my teen years is now on the classic rock station...well they've been there for a few years now. One thing I've learned from getting older is I'm more like my mom then I thought, she use to say my music wasn't any good and now I feel that way...lol I only had to say that to my youngest son (rap) because my oldest son listened to rock/metal music like me and my mom(she just didn't like the "rock" I listened to. She said that none of the music I listened to would last. She honestly said that Metallica would never be like the Stones, they couldn't last that long...sadly she passed before I could say look at the music you said wouldn't last!!

Being a Kansas boy from Near Topeka, Kansas from really close to Kerry Livgren who wrote the lyrics to most of the songs that the group Kansas sings and plays. It's really the same kind of wisdom from mama to son and just hard life on the road when you have every available thing and the road is a hard place to live. The blonde hair guitar 🎸 player is Kerry Livgren, now a very strong Christian man , and has KZbin channel dedicated to his life, and he's a genius guitar player and lyrics writer.

The 70's produced some amazing musicians! You don't see that level of creativity in today's world.

I had the opportunity to see Kansas on a Friday night at Little John in Clemson and Saturday night in Charlotte. Both concerts were just like the album, incredible!

That Jesus looking guy is Robby Steinhardt, the band's violinist, who recently passed away. This particular song didn't have violin but most of their songs do. This band successfully incorporated violin into rock music. Definitely check some more Kansas out. The album this song came from, Leftoverture, is my favorite album by them, but all their stuff is great.
