True story... I was driving around with my 13 year old niece in the car when this song came on the radio and she said "Oh I love this song!". I say "That's The Georgia Satellites". She leans forward up to the windshield and looks up at the sky and says "Where?".

I was in a similar situation but no shotgun. My first wife was pregnant before we got married but her parents didn't want us to get married because she was 17 and I was 20. We did anyway and raised three wonderful children over the next 20 years. This video is great!

It's amazing how much of a difference three years can make when we're young, but later it makes no difference at all. I met my wife-to-be when I was 32 and she was 24, and that eight year difference was a challenge at first especially from my POV, but less so the older we got until by twenty years later it made no difference at all. If we had met any earlier than that the difference probably would have been too much and it wouldn't have worked, and TOO much earlier would have landed me in jail. 😄

One of the best gigs I ever did was a blues-rock show at a wedding out in the country on a farm...I was nervous 'cause I was the ONLY black dude there, but my flashy keyboard playing won 'em over and I got treated like royalty--got tipped big and took home lotsa food and hugs!

I have played this tune hundreds of times, in every rock and country band I've been in (7 bands on 3 different instruments) since it was released 30 sumpin' years ago. Always gets the crowd moving. Saw them many times live. Hung out with the majority of them in the early 80's at Baker Street in Atlanta when they were the Hell Hounds
