amazing minimalist funk band. dean town for the bass trix, and back pocket for more quirky lyric patterns. edit/ps: they have an amazing troll they ran on spotify. the end result was a free concert for their fans essentially funded by spotify incompetence

Such a cool tune and band. These have lots of instrumental songs plus tunes like this with guest vocals. They do some super funky, very precise types of songs. Worth looking into.

Roberta Flack , Donnie Hathaway, Fraaank Sinatra, this is a reference to Bernard Purdie interview where he was boasting about all the stars he’s played for . Bernard played on a lot Steely Dan records , Aretha. Great drummer. But yes this was a reference to Bernard look him up. 😀

I am so so so glad you enjoyed it. I am super happy I suggested it. I would say to try: It Gets Funkier IV, Funky Duck, Wait for the Moment, and most of all Back Pocket. Back Pocket is so great, and the video is just wonderful. I hope this song does well so you go for more of them. Love this channel.

Also the vocalist is a feature, who, according to what I understand, was a therapist who one of the members or a producer had heard sing, and convinced him to come in and do some songs with the group. He has a fantastic voice, but I don't want to overlook the great music the band is doing behind those vocals. Just a fun little group. Thanks again.
