It's so lame of that person to have shouted at you across the street while you're working everyday to save lives. Also, it's not because the black are suffering "more" from discrimination that your concern and feelings are less worthy of being given consideration.

I have a friend who is Asian-American and we have been friends for years. Around 4 years ago,I guess,we were talking in the Google Hangout and she mentioned some teenage males yelled a slur at her as she was walking down the sidewalk. That bothered me a lot then and bothers me still. I'm sorry it happened to her and I'm sorry it happened to you. You do more to help people in a week, as a gastroenterologist, than that small minded ninny will ever do in their entire live time. Take care,it's scary out there.

We have Asian Americans in our NE Atlanta neighborhood, most of whom we don’t know very well other than to wave to them as we move about. I feel like we should somehow reach out to them in support but am not sure what form that should take. What do you suggest?
