Asian Carp began appearing in Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley in 2004, but public awareness skyrocketed in 2017 when anglers began noticing skinny fish in Kentucky Lake. In this public presentation, Adam Martin, western district fisheries biologist for Kentucky Fish & Wildlife, discusses the impacts of Asian carp and offers a brief introduction into the incredibly complex interactions between plankton, fish, and related environmental conditions. There are reasons to be hopeful about the future of the fisheries in these lakes, but we have a lot of work left to do in the war on carp. For more information on Asian Carp visit: fw.ky.gov/Fish...

Thank you, info is very nice. I suppose it is somewhat useful for other Kentucky lakes. Thank you.

So 4 years. It's now 2023. Where are we now? I also live on Kentucky Lake and have noticed the bass boat traffic is quite a bit less than it has ever been.

It's now 2022. Are there any updates to this study or information? I live on Kentucky Lake and try and follow this closely.

When you go out on Barkley lake and cannot even catch a bluegill on a maggot, like my wife and i did last year, it is pretty bad, that was on Donaldson creek.

It is nice to know that the Kentucky Fish & Game has people well educated on their ecosystem like our Montana Fish & Game has.

Need to be using the asian carp for fish sticks and fish sandwiches. Public schools and jails / prisons are 2 big markets that come to mind. They taste great, the bones are the only issue, and that's not really a big deal once you figure out how to work around them. For something like fish sticks, that's not an issue at all.

how did they get introduced into the lake? And why do they allow live fish from Asia into the United States is plain stupid.
