If the Aussies really go for it (their sport is rugby or something) they can top the sport along with the Big Ones (Brazil, Spain, Germany, Argentina, Italy, etc.) in the second half of this century, even before the Americans. But before that they need to learn the real name of the sport, as the Americans: its football not soccer, how can they be great in a sport that they cant even call by the real name?

I saldy doubt that they could ever be as strong as european and south american countries. Why ? European play all the time against big teams. Player plays in the biggest clubs in the world. France, Spain, Italy, Germany, England, Portugal, Netherland, Belgium, Croatia and so on.. Playing all the time against high level players make you improve a lot. Same for south american, with Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and so on... Sadly Australia basically only plays against Japan, Korea and Iran. wich are good teams, but not even close to the biggest countries. Just see what happened Saudi Arabia against Russia. And then, Australia is waaay too far away from where football is. It's easy for a french guy to go play in England or Spain. But for an aussie, leaving for the other part of earth. You should have a reaaally good league in Australia to be able to form players, keep them and pay a lot for players to come play (this is what USA try to do, but only have old players, pre-retiring). And then, Cricket, Aussie football and Rugby is waaaay to big for football to have a chance to grow... I would love to know what an australian guy or girl think about that Sorry for the grammatical mistakes, I'm french (also good luck for our game, hope france win :P ) , so it's not my natural language haha
