The smell is actually Sake, an alcoholic drink commonly consumed in Japan. I’d say Kiku smells like an attempt to hide the Sake scent with bubblegum.

$205 for a lotion? That's absurd and outrageous! I used a couple of Erno Laszlo products back in my bougie days and to be honest, I was never impressed. It wasn't that expensive back then so I'm surprised to see a whopping price tag on a lotion but a lot has changed in the past few years. Anyway rant aside, I'm intrigued by the Hada Labo Gokujyun emulsion and I'm going to order it. The Kiku-Masamune Sake has an unscented version as well. I'll see if I can find it and order it as I'd love an emulsion for face and body. Thanks for another great review and I hope you have a fabulous day and week ahead! ❤😘

I will look for the fragrance- free version too! Maybe that is the one in the white bottle? To be honest, that was the one I thought I ordered lol. Anyway - the hada Labo one is just so good - I am sure you will love it 🥰

Hi I'm Loretta De Los Rios using Frank's account to make this comment with his permission. I believe I saw it for $145.00 . But it looks like it has synthetic fragrance. I need to make sure, also the %. It has some goodies in it.

In the seventies, when I was in high school, my mom ordered a product from some catalog (obviously I don’t remember which, she had a few) called Placenta Plus. I have no idea where or how the placenta was sourced, but it was a clear balm stick that rolled up in a hard plastic round tube that she would apply directly to her face. It was not greasy and absorbed nicely into the skin. She golfed, did not wear sunscreen (no such thing back then but wore a hat and sunglasses). Anyway Mom had flawless skin. She would buy extra so I could use it too. My first moisturizer! Which was awesome because I was trying to dry out moderate acne until she intervened with “your skin is getting flakey…try this!” Thanks, Mom!

Hi I'm Loretta De Los Rios using Frank's account to make this comment with his permission . I remember that product. 🤲✝️🙏👍🤗 My mother took care of her skin too. She had beautiful skin. Never used Sunscreen. She had fair skin. I'm not saying Suncreen is obsolete, or shouldn't be used! with all the new skincare nowadays and the virus that came about, extreme pollution in the air. ,it's probably a good idea to use it. I also had acne when I was younger! Vulgaris acne. My mom taught me how to care for it and also took me to the dermatologist. I didnt use sunscreen in the past. And I lived in the Carribbean for quite sometime. I wasn't the type to lay in the sun for hours, only for 20 minutes the most. I couldnt stand being in the sun longer than that or i spend even less than 20 minutes. But obviously I was around the sun. I do not have sun damage on my skin, dark spots, or MELASMA. I have light skin. Happy RESURRECTION. 🌱😺🐕⚘😢

I could have written the first sentence in your story. My mom used a placenta product also. Lived in South Florida. Spent hours in the yard, at the ball field with the younger kids, and passed at 84 without a wrinkle/line on her face.

Love Kiku Masamune lotion. Very thin and watery but so moisturize like thick lotions. It’s runny so I may put it in a spray bottle to keep neat. Thank you for recommending it. Love your channel ❤.

Thanks Christa for this video which immediately caught my attention because very few people review Erno Laszlo on their skin care channels. I've used this brand almost religiously for over 30 years especially the sea mud soap. However, this new Phormula 3-10 line is outrageously expensive! How fortunate you are to have been sent these products to try! Did Erno Laszlo simply send them to you randomly? Would love to know your honest thoughts when you have used all the products in that range longer. Definitely hanging out for your review. PS. Love the humour in your videos :)

I have to admit - I was quite unfamiliar with Erno Laszlo until just the last year or so - so I was quite surprised when they reached out offering to gift me these products. The sea mud soap sounds VERY interesting, I will be looking that one up too! I will definitely do a deep dive into the brand, I think old Hollywood is so fascinating, and the fact that many A-List actresses from that time loved this brand says a lot :) Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts - and hope you have a wonderful week!

I read in reviews that the Kiku-Masamune Sake Brewing Japanese Sake Skin Care Lotion smell like sour banana, I am not sure what that smells like but removed it from my cart. I am so tempted by the ingredients is the smell that bad?
@ChristaEvelyn
@ChristaEvelyn Жыл бұрын
Ha! I wouldn’t go THAT far as sour bananas. I honestly struggle to describe it - but I don’t find it is a lasting scent on my skin either.

Funny video 😂 I also cringe when people beg for subscribers and likes 😆 There are a couple KZbinrs I follow who I really like to watch, but they really beg harrrd for subscribers lol. It’s kind of annoying actually, taking up so much video time begging for likes and subscribers, and honestly people know by now how to subscribe to videos, and if they’re watching your videos, and wound up liking them, they will subscribe, if they don’t, then they either don’t like the account, or they simply haven’t found the account yet. I get sooo tired of the 4 minute sponsorships in the middle of the videos. I follow this older lady who I absolutely loved her videos a few months ago when I found her account. She always does vlogs following her around London. Well when I first found her account I absolutely loved it and couldn’t wait to watch her videos every Sunday. But now, lately, within the last 5 months, she’s really been pushing the sponsorships. Now 80-90% of her videos are just sponsorship ads. Now I feel like I’m watching an ad. It feels like she’s actually just advertising, but throwing in a little bit of quick vlogs just to “say” she did a vlog. She’ll do a Hello Fresh in the beginning of her vlog, then she’ll do a skincare sponsorship in the middle of her vlog, then just take a walk through her city for the rest of it, and that’s it 🙄. Definitely NOT the same as when she started. It really sucks when accounts change due to money and ads.

Thanks so much for sharing your perspective, it's hard on both sides of the coin! I share your feelings as a consumer of social media, but then now I see the other side from a content creator's perspective. At the end of the day, it really just boils down to what we all learned in Kindergarten - do unto others as you would have done to you (or something like that). Basically, I try to create the channel/content that I like to watch. If that is my barometer - I figure there will be at least some people it will resonate with 🤪

I don't think I've tried any lotion products specifically, but I have just started using emulsions. This brand called Donginbi was around half-off after Christmas, and I had some Christmas money, so I decided to treat myself to their Moisturizing and Firming set. (Not that I need firming, but I heard the set was really good for dehydrated skin, and has a lot of antioxidants in it, which I am pretty interested in.) It has a bunch of minies, and two full sized products. Their softener EX which is a toner (it's 150ml), and their Emulsion (it's 130ml). Both products are great! The brand focuses on ginseng and ages it, so the antioxidant abilities are more potent, and I can really tell a difference in how glowy my skin is! It's not even a oily glow, it's lit from within like. I've heard ginseng is good for well-aging, so it makes me wonder what it would do for more vintage skin too. My biggest problem with the products is the price and the smell. The smell is kind of salad dressing like, but it's not the worst thing ever, and the set retails for around $130 if it's not on sale. To be fair though in that perspective too, it's constantly on sale, just not always half-off like it was when I got it.
@ChristaEvelyn
@ChristaEvelyn Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for sharing! I am not familiar with that brand, but I am a big fan of antioxidants in skincare, and ginseng has some amazing benefits for the skin. When it comes to cost - it is so relative, what you can afford of course is paramount, but also what you are getting in one system vs. cobbling together a lot of other products to achieve the same balance of ingredients etc.
