Ok,so this is a utilitarian view,but basic biology : men dont have a downtime to reproduce.they can impregnate one woman after the other, ensuring the survival of their genes ( but even in that,they do subconsciously check who is fertile ..breasts and width of hips do signal fertility ).As for women,they have a downtime,they carry one event of pregnancy for 9 months,hence they are more selective of which genes to carry for that time.However,the concept of marriage and monogamy is created by us.So if a man and a woman decide to get married,and want to stay married,they dont give in to this basic biology.Will a man never find anyother woman attractive?
