Well, Kona is more of an SUV, Hyundai IONIQ is more of an EV sedan. So, if you want more interior volume, then go with Hyundai Kona hybrid. But if you want more efficiency than go with Hyundai IONIQ. Thanks Alexa.

I'm always confused with hybrids and plugin hybrids. This is regular hybrid right? So the battery is really small? Like 1.5kw/h I'm guessing. I think a plugin hybrid would be great if it had a 15kw/h battery. What's the price BTW?

I understand that DCTs get clutch damage during heavy traffic! An eCVT like the one in Toyotas is better for heavy traffic. Hyundai should switch to eCVTs in future hybrid models. Oh and eCVTs are not the same as regular CVTs.

DCTs paired with electric motor don't have the same issues in heavy traffic (if engineered properly). The issue is that there is always a bit of clutch slip (wear & tear) when engaging the transmission to the rotating engine. When paired with an electric motor the transmission can smoothly start without needing the clutch to slip.

Hi I own a Kona Hybrid. Range is maybe 1 kilometer? But the Kona won't allow you to do it because it will start the ICE as soon as you pick up a bit of speed. The battry is only 2 KwH or so and that could at a maximum translate to about 5 kilometers of range. It will not do this because it will retain charge to provide you with electric support. This car is NOT about EV driving. If anything, it's closer to the mild hybrid principle than the PHEV principle.

Bit disappointed that its not a plugin... This is more or less a kia niro, its not hard to carbon copy the thing with a Hyundai badge... Hyundai is taking way to long getting these to the states, also its largest market. There is no sports coupe anymore and the genesis line up, while it has nice cars; thats all it has... Hyundai came back and made a name for itself in the states, now its starting to switch direction again... It's sad to see that they didn't keep it up in the end. Unless I see a plug in hybrid option my next car is looking more like its going to come from another company, sad its coming to this after my amazing experience owning my genesis...

It’s a terrible car I have one I get around 35.6mpg and I drive 100 miles a day on motorways

Asian Petrolhead I have they test drove it and somehow managed 52mpg, however even using cruise control at 70mph I can’t get anywhere near those figures other than that brilliant car and great review
