There's actually a story behind this. While out getting a coffee, Matt Stone was apparently approached by a homeless guy who recognized him from his work on South Park. The two started having a chat, and the homeless man told the story of how his parents used to drive up to Washington once a year for a vacation. Apparently his dad used to mumble to himself while driving, just talking about various stuff like cars driving around him, the road conditions, the songs on the radio and so on. One year while heading out of the city, they stopped at the toll booth on the Antioch bridge and the booth worker asked for the money. Apparently the homeless man said "I need about tree fiddy", and that's when Matt noticed that the homeless man was actually an 8 storey tall crustacean from the protozoic era.

So many elements of this joke are great: the fact that he tells the story even though Stan says they don't want to hear it, the fact that "seeing the Loch Ness monster" is _supposed_ to be unbelievable but it is very clearly a real problem these two old people have, the fact that the monster is apparently scamming them, and the fact that we the audience imagine all of these encounters so vividly. How does someone come up with a joke like this? xD

I love how Issac Hayes is actually doing the dads voice & Trey Parker is doing mom's voice 😂😂😂😂 I used to think it was just Trey doing both but u can tell that's Issac Hayes in his pretendo voice which makes this even more legendary than it already is ❤
