Excellent video, though I noticed the lack of balance on the answer regarding the (imagined/projected) fears of China govt weaponizing client data vs the existing real-time abuses/negligence of USA govt spyware and USA internet companies? 🤔

There is a lot of sense in this video but also a lot of thinks that does not make sense and by itself might make sense but if one scratches the surface it seems not to make sense any longer, like talking about data centers and networking, saying that just because of Huawei or any other manufacturer deploys DCN products makes "China" be able to get that information in the DCs is totally ludicrous, I work with networking and DC tech and this fails the logic test. Also Smart City with cameras sounds scary to many but in fact London and tons of otherd have cameras, even here in Sweden we get them, but unfortunately they are so bad and cannot do what Chinese cameras can so no facial recognition hence the use of them is mostly for show and scare tactic not for actual use, well except the UK officers that used it to look into apartments to get nude pic's or soy on their ex partners etc... I would expect that one add 1+1+1+1 in these kinds of clips and not just on sided talk without balance, I'm disappointed.

A well-researched, informative and balanced analysis of the BRI. So relieved to watch this after the very disappointing Asia Society Oxford Debate: "With the Belt and Road Initiative China Pays for Worsening its Own Image" (Why such a negatively oriented title?)

This is the most comprehensive interpretation about BRI I have seen. I would like to have my own understanding and explanation of bri later on.

China's Belt and Road initiative has left many financially weak countries trapped in "secret debt". It is claimed that China owes 36.5 billion to these countries. China has invested a total of, 64.3 billion in roads, bridges, ports and hospitals in 173 countries. These countries include many countries in Africa and Central Asia. According to experts, 80 per cent of the, 64.3 billion has been lent to the central bank of the country concerned or to a joint venture between China and that country. But the government of many financially weak countries could no longer borrow. As a result, China has taken a different path. They have lent to a coalition of several companies. The government of that country is not directly in that alliance. But in many cases, the government has taken the responsibility of repaying the debt if the alliance of the companies is not able to repay the debt. As a result, the actual debt of those countries to China is not clear to the concerned government in many cases. According to the expert agency, the debt of China in 45 countries is more than 10 percent of their average national product. According to the expert agency, the debt of China in 45 countries is more than 10 percent of their average national product. There is strong dissatisfaction among some locals over the huge Chinese investment in provinces like Pakistan's Balochistan. They claimed that they did not benefit from the project. Militant groups have repeatedly targeted the Chinese project in Balochistan.
