This BEST TIME TO BE SNEAKERHEAD especially with all the 1980’s Models I’m the same way Chris. These I believe were retro in the early 00’s n Puma Sky Cat II High Top I do remember seeing at my Local Mom n Pop sneaker store. Congrats on this AWESOME pick up 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Completely underrated shoe. I think they are fire. Asics should retro more of their basketball shoes. This EX89s are one of the few sneaker models that I would buy in all colorways. Love them!

Great review, I scooped the orange pair and the knicks pair from Kith. The materials on those are really nice, if they do other collabs or GRs with that quality I’ll give them a look otherwise I’ll stick to Kayanos and GL iiis.

Love these kicks. Got a couple pairs and they all feel and look dope. Fun fact... the outsole was designed after a birds eye view of the city. Based on Kayano's first trip to NYC 🙇

I just bought a pair of these in the midnight navy/yellow colorway! Not sure if it's a team colorway, but if so.. my guess would be the Pacers. Anyway, these shoes right off the bat looks amazing for a retro style sneaks. It has a take on the new balance 550, but I kinda like how these look. Although, NB 550s has a lot of colorways going for them, so I'll give 'em that. I wouldn't mind sporting a pair of those next. Shoe feel great, with a hint of that Gel sole in there. Leather seems a little stiff, but the shoe itself is so clean. What I mean by that is, straight out the box no flaws whatsoever. Glues, stitching, lines, etc.. super clean! I can't say the same for Nikes lately. I just got my pair of Penny 1s - Away - in white/royal and they wear so sloppy in this shoe I swear the QC person passed on these, haha 😂 had to send them back unfortunately 😢 Oh well, nike need to do better. Take notes on Asics quality control and packaging! Did i mention, how super packed this shoe was? Some Air Max's I get don't even come with the damn paper wrap inside 🤦🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️ Anyways, I really like these Asics EX89s! Shout out to LA Gear! They need to bring them back too, haha 😂

I got myself the ballaholic collab and the material is decent, not exactly what Asics normally puts on their pairs but these materials are better than on the NB 550

I like the Lakers one. Imma get one soon. I saw on the other video that the outsole is inspired by the New York City but in birds eye view. The guy who created the shoe was on the plane to NY and looked down and there ya go. I can’t tell tho. Coz I’ve never been to New York.

The Knicks colorway looks like the Pistons...which to me makes more sense because the Pistons were more dominant in the 80s and the Knicks were...well, the Knicks.

I absolutely love these🔥 However I found that they run really narrow. I have narrow feet and my true size was too small, had to go a 1/2 size up. My favourite of the 3 is the Celtics CW but also considering grabbing the Ballaholic collab.

@@mattasepi6861 I wear US 7 in AF1 and got US 8 in these. But not sure how consistent the sizing with the EX89 are. I think for the next pair I'll try again with a 7.5 The comfort is better in the EX89 than the AF1

I can’t understand why the Converse Mavericks or Weapons don’t get a retro release, the weapons are quite specific however the Mavericks fit right in with the AF1, Superstars and other 80’s retros.

I went to try it in store. The Celtics version with the more vintage yellow mid sole was a little nicer looking. Size wise tts. It does have a higher heel to ground which was not for me. Material is similar to the recent dunks. Not as hard as the 550s. At least my big toe was not crying when I tried walking in them. They looked cool. They feel like dunks just higher like Chris said. The higher heel was a deal breaker for me. But if you can get them on discount then. Yeah. Hope this helps whoever is looking at them.
