Hi Matt. Thank you a lot. I´vve been using Kayano and Nimbus for severeal years, and now I decided to try Mizuno, ´cause seeking going faster, and this review has helped a lot. See you!

I’m happy to hear you’re going to try something new. FYI, I’m enjoying the Wave Sky 6 a lot!
@TolunayOrkun2 жыл бұрын
FYI, ASICS stack height specifications are only for the midsole. They do not provide full stack height like other manufacturers. You need to add insole and outsole thickness to get the full stack height. RunningWearhouse measured Nimbus 24 as 36/26 (M) and 37/24 (W). RoadTrailRun measured the men's version at 34mm at the heel.

Thanks for the info! I really should have known; the numbers from ASICS seemed way off! 👊🏽

I have the Mizuno Wave Sky 5 with 800 Km on it, and it will reach 1000 for sure. Mostly use them for recovery days now, but I've done daily training and long runs. Just love the soft and responsive ride. My size is 9 US and weight 300 grams.

Glad to hear you've put in so many kms and they're still working well for you! The Wave Sky 5s really are a solid shoe!

Matt, Great video. I’m currently running the Brooks Ghost 14’s , but I use to run the ASICS Nimbus for several years. The last two pairs I had, the heel cup developed a tear and the inner plastic gave me a bad heel blister. I don’t track the mileage but they were only a few months old each. Anyway your previous video on the Ghost 14’s is what lead me to them. Thanks for the reviews, love the content.

The Ghost 14s are really a solid shoe! I'm still running in mine, but they'll probably be retired next month when the Ghost 15s drop! It's strange you had the same problem with the heel cup on your two Nimbus'. Perhaps it was a specific flaw in a production run? Who knows! I'm glad to hear you have something that works!

I have been running for 8yrs. 6 years wirh nimbus. I am also disapointed with the front sole strips. They do not last very long. I also see that your heel strike is the same as mine, causing the outer sole block of heel to wear more. Reducing life span of soles prematurely. After 4 months i built them up regularly with Pratley Wonder Fix, which then last for for about a month +/- 100kms. Nimbus are my shoes for running, but the soles durability is definitely a dissapointment. My shoes are also more comfy, because i am running with prosthetic inner soles. Happy running
@its_Matt_B_2 жыл бұрын
It seems like the front sole strips on the Nimbus look like they wear down quickly, but I haven’t noticed them wearing down enough to impact the life of the shoes. What I mean is, I still think they’ll probably last 350-400 miles! 🤞 Or, I hope they last that long!

I prefer a softer ride too, but I find myself grabbing the Wave Skys more often. They have really softened up as i've put the distance in them!

Good evening, sir. Which of this two you sir would recomend for a guy like me eho works on foot for 10-12h a day? Congratulations for your great work!
@its_Matt_B_2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Jardel! Out of these two shoes, for working on your feet I would recommend the ASICS Gel-Nimbus 24. I would also recommend the Brooks Ghost for that type of use!

Hi! Choosing a shoe depends on what type of feeing you like when you walk. The ASICS is soft and the Mizuno is quite firm.

I’ve watched so many vids by so many obviously competent runners, my head is spinning. Can I ask you what you think would be an excellent shoe for someone that doesn’t run - me, say - but walks 9 hours every shift? Please help
@its_Matt_B_ Жыл бұрын
Comfort is what you’re looking for if you’re on your feet so much. If I had to choose one shoe I would go with the Hoka Clifton. You can probably find some older models for an excellent price! Just so you have a few more options, I would also wear the Brooks Ghost and the ASICS Gel Nimbus. Good luck!

Others have mentioned the Nimbus 24 wearing down fast.
@its_Matt_B_2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, perhaps a little. I have 276 miles on my pair and the forefoot area is wearing down the most, but I still estimate I’m going to get 400 miles out of it!
@filoIII2 жыл бұрын
My Wave Sky 4 is a bit heavier than the Nimbus 24, but I can feel a bit of "firmness" in the ball of my foot in the Nimbus. Best Nimbus to date, but I don't like 10 mm drop. Nimbus soles USED to last FOREVER. Interested in the WS 5. More 3 is my fave, BUT its sole wore down very quick.
@its_Matt_B_2 жыл бұрын
My WS5 seem to be far more resilient than the Nimbus 24. The Nimbus is a softer ride, but that softness probably contributes to the quicker wear! 🤷🏻♂️
@filoIII2 жыл бұрын
@@its_Matt_B_ I think I'm liking my WS4 more than my Nimb24. My Clifton 8s have kinda been moved out the rotation.

You need to heel strike more so the landing will be on the AHAR+.😁 my Nimbus 24 outsole looks new.. By the way.. My Vomero 15 got a flat a couple of days ago.. I did not know it could still happen.. Need to throw them away after about 100 k. Disappointing. By the way I really don't like running on gravel with the Nimbus 24. I think it exposed midsole is very soft and will get damaged easily.
@its_Matt_B_2 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure heel striking any more than I already do is a good idea. 🤣 🤔 Perhaps the AHAR is so good that it just isn't showing any wear! I agree about the exposed midsole on the GN24 getting damaged easily in tougher conditions. Mine are already showing wear on the exposed midsole from mostly road running. I'm surprised to hear about your Vomero. You should definitely contact Nike and let them know. You may get a replacement pair!
