Been using the Novablast 4 for about 4 weeks now and they're the best runners I've had. They're superb. Stable, firm yet bouncy ride. Good grip in wet conditions. Can't fault them in the early days of using them.

@@ourwilliam2405 I've no problems whatsoever. What I'm finding I'm doing which I haven't done with other ASICS/runners I've had is I'm really focusing on allowing the shoe to do the work. I'm purposely trying to find the sweet spot of landing with them so I can then maximum bounce and projection with my running. I've done a couple of slow runs but they make me want to go faster.

Questions for TRT : 1) When you guys are testing different shoes on each foot, do you alternate say "shoe A" on the right foot for 5 miles, with "shoe B" on the left, then switch for the next 5 miles? 2) Have any of you ever just been unable to run in 2 different shoes again at the same time because it was just too awkward?

How was your experience comparing the novablast 3 to the Kayano 30? Im in the same boat comparing the novablast 4 or the kayano 30. I havent tried the novablast 4 yet, but the kayano is indeed very comfy. I have a little flat-footedness but close to a neutral running gait.

@@sammysalgado1475 I don't know, I only used them for running, they are too narrow at the toe and have a high drop for my tastes. But they are still very comfortable, I suppose they are excellent for standing for many hours.

I had the exact same feelings in my review of the Nimbus 26. I'm happy to see I'm not alone. Especially given, like the Run Testers, I didn't really enjoy the Novablast 3...
@kuriosites10 ай бұрын
I had the Nimbus 25 and the Novablast 3. I put 300 miles in the Nimbus & 500 in the Novablast. After 300 miles, the Nimbus was just too much weight and bulk. The Novablast also feels like a big shoe, even though it is much lighter. The Puma Deviate Nitro 2 pretty much retired them both. Even though it is a shade heavier than the Novablast, it just doesn't feel like a big shoe.

When reviewers say a running shoe fits 'true to size' does that mean 'get same size as your normal everyday shoes/boots' or 'get the half size up from your normal everyday shoes'?! Clarification would be much appreciated! I am still confused about whether running shoes should be a half size bigger or not. Especially when reviewers sometimes say 'this feels like a big shoe and a bit slappy'. Maybe its the wrong size?! So difficult to know without running in both sizes I suppose. Anyway, thanks for the review!

I'm not 100% sure re: true to size, I have supination so I chose the Gel Nimbus 25 last year. Fantastic running shoes, only that I have the feeling I could do with a half, or one size up as I am experiencing some discomfort on my left small toe. They seem fractionally too snug for me personally.

I am between two sizes and chose the smaller size. So, my larger right foot, which i measures 28,4cm is in a Nimbus 26 / Kayano Lite 3 / Superblast / Fuji Lite 4 with 285mm JPN. Yes, I'am right at the front, but it isn't a problem. All those toe boxes are WAY too spaceious for me. I have no elephant feet to fill all this volume! ;) Also, my smaller left foot (27,5cm) is a whole UK/US size smaller and happier that it doesn't get half a size even larger! Uneven pairs? Yes, I have in climbing shoes and my trail running shoes (Hoka Speedgoat 5 + Asics Fuji Lite 4) Shoes Like the Novablast 4 TR, Noosa Tri 15, GT-2000 10 etc I have in the larger size, so 290mm JPN.

With a thumb width in the toe box…what’s the real definition of True to size. My actual feet are measured at size 9 Uk but I could never actually fit comfortably in that size, let alone run in it. So my Gel Nimbus 25 and SUPERBLAST are a UK size 10.5, which gives me that thumb width in the toes box and feel nice on my feet so what’s true to size actually mean

I think true to size (tts) means true to your measured foot size! I have mid width feet (at the narrow end of mid) and they are low volume with a very low instep. Everything else is normal (arches, toes, etc) and healthy :) My right foot is excactly EU 45,5, whereas my left foot is something between EU 44 and 44,5. I have Asics runnig shoes in US 11,5, which is rounded UP EU 46. I would NEVER want the right shoe to be larger/bigger! From the feeling of above, my big toe is basically pretty much at the end of the shoe - there is no cm or a thumb width space, yet I always have the feeling of the shoe beeing too big! I also struggle to find running socks that don't become slippery within 30-45 min. I feel like i slide around inside the shoe, no matter how good i lock the laces down, also with lace lock (which feels very good initially). But I never experiance heel slippage. [[[ Probably I have this feeling because i am used to tight shoes because of rock climbing. THAT is what a secure lockdown means :) When I hear or read people saying they buy runing shoes i size larger than their foot size... I can just imagine what it must feel like to swim around in boats! Maybe they have wider feet and the wrong model? I know this with climbing shoes: There are people out there with wide feet and a narrow climbing shoe and then taking them 2 whole sizes largere than that model should be. I mean, hello!? Probably take a quick look at your feet and then onto the shoe: realize something? ;) ]]] Anyway: some reviewers said that they took the Asics Superblast 0,5 numbers smaller than their usual Asics running shoe size (and all the other asics running shoes they say it fits true to size for THEM), so... I have them right here: in US 11 (rounded DOWN 45) and on their way to me (but somewhere lost at the moment) in US 11,5 (rounded UP EU 46). My larger right foot is EU 45,5. Should I keep them in US 11 / EU 45? I would also be able to get a EU 44 (ran only once) for a very good price to put on my left foot. BUT: What if after long runs it turns out they are too short and i should have gotten the larger US 11,5 / EU 46 one? Hmmm... Or don't bother with 2 pairs and just go for the US 11 / EU 45 I have here right now? With the lace lock, my shorter left foot feels ok - I don't know about the have size larger pair of US 11,5 / EU 46 though. I mean, with time, EVERY shoe stretches a bit, that is inevitable. Therefore: Should I choose the uneven pair of US 10 / US 11 aka EU 44 / EU 45 of the Superblast for my 44-44,5 / 45,5 left / right foot? I mean, the Superblast should last me ages! I'm an inconsistent (not) runner with 90kg, 5:10 min/km paces on my good days for up to 1 hour (right now more like under 5:30 min/km for 7 km, then up to 6 min/km for another 9km if i have to). I used to run in GT2000 (v6 and v9. The new v12 model is hard as a brick!) and older Gel-Fujitrabuco for trails. Now I have a Novablast 4 TR in US 11,5 / (rounded UP) EU 46 and also a Noosa Tri 15 in US 11,5 / EU 46.

hey, thanks for the video, learned a lot! just some feedback on the video itself though, the format i feel like is a bit confusing. it feels like im watching two completely separate reviews spliced into one. i think some segwaying between the two reviewers, as well as some kind of visual tie ins via editing (using channel colors to border the talking head bits etc), and a segment at the end where the two reviewers share thoughts on the shoe in one cohesive conversation would really help strengthen the video. anyway just my thoughts, keep up the great work!
