I’ve just cracked 1,000km in my second pair of the Glideride 3 and I’m about to start on my third pair. It’s my go-to shoe for my long runs and probably my favourite running shoe ever. I’ll be keeping a close eye on reviews for this new iteration.
@io-rj6sk20 күн бұрын
hows this iteration compare to the 3?
@JDeezle212 ай бұрын
Welll since the Superblast 2 stays sold out, these will be a good enough consolation prize for most runners

I am so glad the Glideride continues!! Thank you for this initial review David!

It lives! Yes! The Glideride 3 is the trainer that worked best for my hallux rigidus. Was gutted when it was discontinued in the UK. The increased flexibility is a worry, though. Not sure if that will offer the big toes the same protection...
@BenitoR22 ай бұрын
Ah. Just read the review and the hallux section, specifically. Gutted. Gutted. Gutted. Might be time to remortgage the house and try the Superblast then! 😉
@paulmulks2 ай бұрын
@BenitoR2 I won't lie I had to Google Hallux Rigidus and I swear bro I've got that exact issue in the big toe of my left foot 😳 I had the Glideride 3's and loved them! I put over 500 miles on my pair before I sadly retired them, so do you not think the new Max will work as well? I have the Superblast 2's which I love but as soon as I saw a new Glideride mentioned I was like "Asics take my money" 😂
@BenitoR22 ай бұрын
@paulmulks Ah, sorry to hear that, it sucks. From this video and the written review, it sounds like the Max has lost quite a bit of the stiffness that the Gliderides have always had. That flex will probably mean feeling it more in the toe joint. The Glideride 2 got me back into running after giving up due to pain, so I have an emotional connection to them! I'm currently running in the Skyward X and those have been great on the toes. I'm intrigued by the Superblast but haven't found a pair in store to try on yet!

I miss the firmer predecessors. I walked and jogged in the 1st version while recovering from achilles teninopathy, but it wore out. I replaced it with the 3, but the softer foam seemed to deform the rocker shape a bit too much to provide the same benefit.

Kind of reminds me of a max stack Noosa Tri 16. Thanks David (and Matt for the written review, wherever on the West Coast you are)

Hey dude, It would be great to see you going back to making more videos for the channel like the old days. Definitely appreciate your opinion and perspective on running shoes!

Thank you for the kind words! It's definitely been my bad on getting recordings up. It can be challenging balancing everything sometimes but I'm going to try and make an effort to get more vids up again!

What's the difference between this and the Novablast 4 (Which fits between the Superblast and Nimbus)?
@zchhansen2 ай бұрын
Thanks David! Does this version have prominent interior arch support like the Endorphin Shift 3? I like a stiff forefoot for my toes, but the support pressing against my arches can be quite annoying.

Like the look of these. Looks like a great long run shoe .

First of all, I LOVE your written reviews. And THANK YOU for the added section of Good for walking Good for standing Etc That said, would you recommend this shoe for mainly a walking shoe? Walking around 5-7 miles a day as well as standing for 8 hours plus? It seems the rocker isn’t that intense and I actually like a bit of a rocker for my walks. Thanks!

Thanks for the video, I would ask why mess with the work horse shoe that is the glide ride 3. I have over 200 miles in mine and like it the way it´s is it heavier than the 3

WILL Glideriide Max beat or be comparable with Novablast 4??? OR which shoe in the Asic or other brands is it comparable....
@keyboardbw2 ай бұрын
Novablast very different concept from glideride. NB is very flexible shoe with a lot of bounce (i didnt get on with the NB at all, in particular the forefoot). Glideride is very stiff shoe with plate and strong rocker, which helped all my achilles and plantar issues I had.
@Wings_nut2 ай бұрын
Seems like this new model is competing with the Novablast for intended use. I appreciate the 6 mm heel drop for sure. However, I don't appreciate the price tag.

Hi David, can you please review asics noosa tri 16?
@wonkydonkey78992 ай бұрын
Does the latest version fit the same as the glideride 3? I go true to size, but I feel my big toes almost hit the tip of the toebox. It runs shorter in length compared to other ASICS running shoes I have.

How should this shoe work with hallux limitus?
@BenitoR22 ай бұрын
Take a look at the written review, which is really helpful. It sounds like the decrease in stiffness will mean these aren't as good as the predecessors. A bit gutted about that.
@io-rj6sk20 күн бұрын
does this or nimbus do recovery runs better?
@DoctorsofRunning20 күн бұрын
Depends on runner’s preference for high toe spring. Wouldn’t say one is better than other in general.

There was really no reason to make it heavier than v3... That was already max stack and soft enough.

Glideride 3 drop advertised as 5mm but it was actually 11,1mm and you could feel it (runrepeat source) Hope this one is actually closer to that 6mm

I saw in a previous video that Glideride 3 was recommended as a good shoe for Hallux Limutus, would you recommend this model also? And when is this expected to be released?

It’s okay, but not as good as before in this regard due to being milder. See Matt’s written review for more detail on that.
