Asics Magic Speed 3 vs Puma Deviate Nitro 2: Which super-trainer should you get?

Puma hands down. Excellent daily trainer and you can do everything in them. For most runners, that don’t need 3+ shoes in their rotation, the puma’s can do everything without any problems. Plus the grip is excellent

This video is absolutely what I needed since I was actually deciding which shoe to get. As much as I would love to get the Asics because I love there shoes I’ve decided to get the Puma’s because like you stated the Puma’s are cheaper and it seems like Asics won’t budge on their pricing. Pricing aside I think the Puma’s would actually suit me better and this video definitely cleared up any questions I had between which shoe to get.

Any comparison I watch matching the DN2 with anything else in its class should see the DN2 winning every time. Best all around shoe of the past few years, IMO.

Have the PUMAs, great every day trainer for long runs/strides, comfortable and has excellent grip. Bit heavy for a fast 5k but good for steady efforts.

I ran in the Deviate Nitro 2 at a Puma event last week for the first time and got a PB. Saying that, do do feel a bit clunky and look forward easing into them over future miles.

Was that the 10k at the Olympic Park? I was at the same event and ran a PB too. I was pleasantly surprised by the Puma Deviate Nitros. Really nice shoe. Won’t be replacing my Alphaflys but as a daily shoe, I like them 👍

I was able to get the Puma in US size 14 wide, not sure but the Asics isn't available in that size and width. Love the Puma. Fit, comfort, and performance.

I like the Deviate Nitro 2 a lot. I'm wondering if you've tried the Noosa Tri and how it compares to the Magic Speed 3. It's a firmer, heavily rockered shoe but no plate.

Don’t compare it. Magic speed has plate and noosa doesn’t. Shoe has plate much faster and better support. Noosa is better for daily run.

True. He means that this two shoes can be better rotation. DN2 for daily run and Speed 3 for speed run.

The elite is a full blown carbon plated race shoe and is substantially more expensive than the magic speed 3.

Magic has a carbon plate, DN2E has a carbon plate. Magic is branded as a racing shoe, DN2E is branded as a racing shoe. Both are comparable in purpose, both functionally and as advertised. And $50 more isn't a lot@@Sharkster_J

I want to love the Puma but just find them too heavy. Not sure why as I use the Velocity 2 as my daily shoe and the Deviate just feel weigh me down. I have persisted for a while but can now link post run leg pain to the shoes so will be benching them

From my experience deviate nitro 2 loves faster pace, preferably under 4:30 /km and faster cadence. Not my type for base runs, but more for race. I would like to try asics but they are literally 2x more expensive than deviate nitro which i got for 100$

Puma DN2 is rigid so if you try running on this shoes, you may experience pain on the heel and ankle part. The outsole is stiff and not even bouncy. Not advisable for cadence instead for strides.

The Puma DN2's price is AUD$195.00 & that's its sale price. Its normal price is AUD$279.00. I got the Magic Speed 3 for AUD$170 on ASICS sale. I'm using it for 5k & 10k runs & am enjoying running in it. 🏃🏃👍👟👟

Picked up in Oz on sale previously for $140 AUD and even Deviate Nitro Elite 2 for $160 on sale. Just need to be patient.
