I was at Petaro, Kit No 892. Ayub House and I was JUO during the final year. Asif was rarely know as Baloch, though some called him that.. His close friends called him Bambino because of the cinema they owned but he went with the name Asif Zardari.The takeover was Waheed's idea, Asif was part of it. It was for about 5 days. Rangers were never called in and they left the Principals office after a fight happened in which Waheed was hit on the cheek. at that point there were 4 people in the room waheed, mangi, asif and one other person i cannot remember.. After the fight in which asif did not take any part they evacuated the principals office and the adjutant, from the navy took over. Asif was a very friendly person in college and was in the shooting team and captain of the riding club.

In 1991 or 1992 ( O forget ) I , Prof. MARAHOOM Muneerul Haq sahib for his physiotherapy in Mayo Hospital Lahore , met Prof. Dr. Khalid Jamil Saahib . During that meeting he asked me about Hyderabad , Tilak Chaarhi and JamShoro . He told that he was Petarian and still closed friend of Asif Zardari Saahib ... He also showed / explained manufacturing of Prosthtic Kimbs . At that time I was PostGraduate student of Masters in Ophthalmology under supervision of Prof. M. Munirul Haq Saahib at Institute of Ophthalmology, K.E. M.C. / Mayo Hospital, Lahore .

My Dear Friends Aasalam O Alaikum I know Dr Khalid Jameel Akhtar since Petaro I also known him since 1969 yes I agreed Both in Jinnah House In 1972 College taken over cadet College Petaro at time Principal Cadet College Petaro was Professor S S Azim he died on 20/10/2014 Azim sahib expelled Asif Ali Balouch in April 1972

KJ was first amongst equal in Petaro. Star performer then and continues, todate. His journey in adversity is truly remarkable. For the attempted takeover of Petaro in 1972, I remember, we the young Cadets, were all hurled to rally and hopefully block, once a da, Bolan Mail to Quetta, as part of student protest on that early summer day in April 1972. BTW, nobody still knows why the gang led the strike. Waheed ud Din Akbar (self styled Principal), if I recall was grandson of Allama Mashraqi of Khaksar Movement of 1930’s, Zarrar Luqman, (self styled Vice Principal) reportedly, brother of TV person, Mubashir Luqman, Asif Ali Baloach, aka, Zardari, self styled Burser /Purser, looking after the finances, and Mohammed Nasir Ayub ( self styled Adjudant) were formally ‘struck of strength’ / expelled from the college.

I know Dr. Khalid Jamil sahib from Quetta we had few common friends. One was Tahir Ata if Dr. K. Jamil recall those days. I meet Dr sahib after his accident he was in KE medical college he came to visit his friends at Allama Iqbal medical college. We had great time in Quetta. No doubt Khalid is a role model, he was all rounder in studies and a great sportsman, used to play squash at Quetta club. On the top of it very humble and caring guy. Wish I had his email address or phone number so I could reconnect with him.

میرے لڑکپن 1970کے جتنے دوست سندھ کے۔۔۔ کیڈیٹ کالج پٹارو میں تھے اس میں زیادہ تر سندھ کے وڈیروں کے بگڑے بچوں کی تھی جن کو صرف ٹریننگ کیلئے داخلہ دیا جاتا تھا۔ نہ کہ مکمل تعلیم کیلئے داخل کرائے جاتے تھے، جو بڑے ھونے تک واپس اپنی آزاد زندگی جس کو وڈیرہ لائیف اسٹائل کہتے ہیں واپس چلے جاتے تھے۔ ورنہ زرداری بلوچ بلاول بھٹو کو اس کالج میں ٹریننگ اور تعلیم کیلئے ضرور داخل کراتے۔ یہ ہی وجہ ھے کہ پاک آرمی میں سب زیادہ پنجاب سے اور سب سے کم تعداد صوبہ سندھ سے ھوتی ہیں۔
