My great-great-grandfather Alonzo Platt served with Pennsylvania's 150th, Co C. He was killed the morning of July 1st, 1863, leaving behind a wife and three young children. His descendants have searched for his grave for 30 years and have yet to find it. Our hearts are sadden that we cannot give him the honor of placing flowers were he rests.

That is sad. Hopefully, one day, someone finds out where he is

Around the hour and 2 minute mark Matt slips the comment "And their iron" while Tim is going on a bit of a rant, made me spit out my water 😂 absolutely perfect timing

Hi. I have searched quite excessively for more information on the 142nd PA Infantry Company B on Day 1 of the battle. I really enjoy your presentations! My family lost three of our 3 great grand uncles , all brothers, on the first day of battle. Samuel, Enos and Adam Cramer. If you have discussed and covered this unit in prior episodes, would you please be able to provide me the link? Thank you very much!

I was able to locate one of them in the National Cemetery. Samuel Cramer. His older brothers, Enos and Adam Cramer were never identified and buried in the unknowns. I have read they never received the call for retreat because their flag had been destroyed and once the 142nd realized it, it was too late. Just recently I visited Gettysburg on this mission to discover more. I was elated and entirely surprised to see recognition of them at Seminary Hospital on their wall. Truly amazing and personally I greatly appreciate it. They are not forgotten. 🇺🇸

Glad you enjoyed the show. I would contact the seminary ridge museum and education center and see if they can help you find the info.
