I have many translations, the ESV, NIV, NKJV, KJV, NASB, CSB, HCSB and the NLT and even though I used them all to compare, look things up, etc. the NIV is the one I read and use daily. I have been using it since 2012 and even though I’ve tried to switch to the ESV or NKJV, the NIV calls me back. It’s the only translation that I feel really speaks to me. When I study I have several of my translations out, my main bible is the NIV. I love it❤️

The NIV is my favourite Bible translation, I like that it's easy to understand while being very accurate. Also the NIV is gender inclusive language can make the Bible much easier to understand, they've done a much better job than when they did the TNIV which was gender neutral.

The NIV and NET are not thought-for-thought, they are mediating translations. They are gender accurate, and the NIV 2011 is far more accurate than it's 1984 predecessor. I have found it to be superior in accuracy to the ESV, so I don't understand the continued rhetoric that we should use a "literal" version for study. I wish we could use the terminology "formal" and "mediating" when speaking of these 2 versions, specifically. The ESV has some major issues that just cannot be justified.

I agree. I think the NIV is the most practical translation for most Christians. I find the ESV to be a completely obnoxious translation to read with all the archaic words and backwards sentence structures.

Amen brother. I found the NIV tremendously refreshing, and that is after using the NAS95 for many, many years. Finally, I switched but could not find a respectable translation. I didn't like the CSB nor the NKJV, the NAS20, etc. When I landed on the NIV, I liked it immediately because it flows and is closer to the original language. I use Logos with Interlinear for both Hebrew and Greek. I like it! 😇

Why is it that younger generation who grew up under secular Leftism is incapable of grasping generic masculine pronouns in historic literature? It is in EVERY Bible manuscript copy. God was happy with it for several thousand years. So why alter the language of the Bible to conform to our deeply confused culture?
