I myself am currently trying to collect every historical character and goty + their collections. And it makes me so happy to know that people like you have beautiful collections and are preserving the beauty and history of Pleasant Company/American girl. Also, YES I’d love an in depth book with pictures showing variations between dolls and accessories like Molly’s yoyo for example.

Glad you mentioned how wild mercari can be. I've sold tons of dolls, one time someone bought Lyndsey from me immediately for like $169, and I saw they put her up for sell for $499. Obviously she was still listed over a year later. Just cause she was first GOTY, doesn't mean the market values her... 😅😅😅 I also hate all the questions people ask about my AG dolls but then they never buy. That's why I only have them on Ebay for "buy it now". People have asked me to take the head off so they can see some tag??, and I'm not an expert on them so I'm not doing all that. Lol!!

As a serious collector, my design goal was always to get as close to museum-quality as possible. I make it a goal to get prototypes, store display items, and signs to really make the space pop. I also like mixing dolls and accessories on one shelf.

1. I'd buy a collector's guide book like you described in an instant! 2. A 1993 boy and girl best friends set would be awesome! Their collection would easily be quite distinct from Courtney and the 1999 gals, I think. I remember my brother and I wrote a letter to AG in the early 2000s asking for historical sibling boy girl characters, I feel like there'd definitely be interest if AG would be willing to take a chance for once.

1. This is starting to look likely! 2. I do wish there was a bigger adult collector market for American Girl like there is for Barbie. I think we would have soooo many amazing things. I think they’re trying, but the collector dolls this year didn’t sell well at all. I just wish there were more of us!

I agree so much that id love to see a 93 boy and girl best friend set. In 93, i was 11- and my best friend WAS a boy who loved to play dolls, even way more than i did! He was the entire reason i even had a big orange Barbie doll house! I really wish that American Girl would produce a historical boy character. It's about time. It's about time that little girls realize that boys exist and could easily be the best friend character for any of their own dolls, And we really need a gateway doll for boys to feel comfortable asking for a doll of their own- For all those people who think that boys shouldn't have dolls- at least having a boy doll for them- It would be a great start.

It's all about the marketing. So many parents won't buy something for their sons unless they have permission from the people that make it. I've blown up American Girl's comment section about this in the past, but it falls on deaf ears. I don't even think they need to make a bunch of boy dolls. I just wish the marketing was more inclusive because there are thousands of boys who would be gifted these dolls if AG would just market to them. Maybe one day!

Id love the idea of a collector’s guide there’s a mlp one that’s self published I think by summer Hayes and I love using it CONSTANTLY and up until 2020 the prices had even stayed pretty accurate

I’ve only recently ventured into AG doll collecting and I’m grateful I found your channel. So far, at the time of this comment, I only have Chrissa, but I do plan on collecting other AG dolls as well. I’m very much leaning towards the GOTY dolls, but might purchase a TM doll or 2. Excellent Video! I would love a doll guide because I really want a white body Molly doll. I'm unsure if I want a big or chipped tooth, Molly. All I know is that I want a 1986 Molly with her factory braids for now. Congratulations on finally moving into your new home!

Thank you so much! My favorite are the chipped tooth because that's what most of the catalog pictures showed in the early days. They can be really hard to find, but it's so rewarding to finally get one!

Yes! The book would be great! I find myself very confused when looking on eBay! Also people add hefty prices for what does not seem original or truly what they claim it to be! There is not a lot of education on early pleasant company.

Hi Jonny, I have a white body/salmon joint cups Kirsten with a "Meet Kirsten" dress label: Made in West Germany 1986 . I do not recall what year I purchased her but it was likely the late 80's. I am not sure she is really an 86 as she lacks the "connected teeth seen in the 86 doll. Furthermore her eye color is not turquoise, rather it is a paler blue. It doesn't look like a Dreamer eye. Could it be a Spooky eye? I just cant tell. I have looked at every picture I can find on line but still not confident. Any suggestions? Thanks Faye

Speaking of neck stamps I heard Logan boy doll has a pleasant company neck stamp even though he was made in 2017.

That's likely because he's a Kaya mold and Kaya was a Pleasant Company project that carried into the early Mattel years.

I saw a blog post from years ago that there was a step by step picture guide that a mom did for her daughter bitty baby and put feeding tube for the bitty baby
