I bought an image of a Corona photograph taken of Seoul/Incheon/central Korea in 1968. Very good resolution. You can clearly see the layout of the city and the placement of buildings in Gyeongbok Palace. I remember I bought it online many years ago.

I once heard that the program on the Corona was controlled by a flexible metal tape which had slots cut in it (like aplayer piano roll) to control various functions on the satellite. Apparently the speed of the tape could be controlled from the ground. Very limited....

What a pile of crap. Nobody cares about seeing Dr David's face. Show us the satellite. The work of the engineers is disrespected by focusing on this man's face. He was just a child as this program was getting started. According to my father, the later film had a resolution of as small as 3 feet but they lost field of view. He knew. He developed the film that was returned and proofed it before sending it to the CIA. The 6 foot resolution was possible in 1967 and was determined to be the most useful resolution for field of view vs resolution limitation.
