Every rocket sent into space has all 214 patents of Mr.Goddard, the same patents the Germans obtained in the patent offices in the USA.Mr Goddard got very little support in his efforts in rocketry until ww2.It is pathetic how people refuse to give this man the credit he deserves.

Thank you for uploading this video. I do not live near the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum so I am not able to attend events like this in-person. By offering videos like this you have allowed me to remotely participate in this event and learn more about Dr. Goddard.

I had seen a program years ago that Goddard came to the understanding that he had got as far as he could using pressurized fuel tanks of the day, that to achieve higher alt and faster speeds a higher flow rate was needed. I had heard he had actually had a concept of using a turbo shaft pump to improve pressure and fuel flow rate, but never got the chance it.

In my Russia they call them "sofa experts". He will teach Goddard how to be a pioneer researcher, and at the same time how to weld tanks. Goddard's a scientist, not a tour guide. Therefore, apparently, he sought to separate the tasks: testing the engine and the control system. He tested rockets without a back balancer in 1918. He probably didn't like the kind of welder he was. But from couch, he'd be trained to spend other people's money.

Actually, Goddard was an engineer in every sense, as he was exploring what was not previously explored by almost no one in mechanical manufacturing /Hands-on approach. Disrespectful how the historian /expert belittle and patronise the great Dr. Robert h. Goddard.
