great video! super cool to hear the thinking that is going into creating your studio. one observation: "build" is usually fabricating something. "assemble" might be a more appropriate term for your wardrobe and desk kits, you received the parts and had to assemble them. +The K&S Channel Well first of all you can't put many types of plants in a closed room since during the night they are doing something called "respiration" which basically releases carbon dioxide. Additionally, but I'm not too sure about that, you need a lot of sunlight for many of the plants. I'm not too sure because I don't know how "sunny" is the room. Other than that he can obviously use many types of plants if he wishes too and, as you said, he can build a techy plant watering system and make it easier for him ^^

+Marques Regarding ways to increase dampening, there is a relatively cheap, effective, and stylish solution. Construct a rectangular frame using 2×4's. Back it with 1/4 inch plywood, fill it with rockwool insulation, and "upholster" the face with a thin fabric (black and red?). Make as many as you need to cover at least 40% of the wall space. You will see HUGE improvements, even without carpeting. The rockwool sucks high frequencys out of the air. Much better than any traditional studio foam

How flammable is that, though? I know there are a lot of methods that soundproof/echoproof better than studio methods but studios don't use them because it's against code because studio grade foam is fire retardant or something, and normally stuff like that is insanely flammable (lots of small air pockets).

Hey Marquess. Don't only use sound dampeners for your echo. Try some diffusors as well. The sound from the walls will still be reflected, but in different directions and this is helping very much for echo situations.

MonkeyMan Yes, thats how Australian ISP work their way around it. They limit the upload speed to maximise download speed (I think thats how it works) Almost all of the ISP does that except the very new NBN fiber optic network which has very very limited coverage at the moment. It's a nightmare to vblogger youtubers, takes overnight to upload a clip or 2.

When you record audio, you place the foam pads behind you. Cardioid mics naturally block out sound behind and to the sides of it so placing the pads behind you who help our reverb problem.
