Congrats. Still a bit torn if SPS will be better than RCMP but time will tell. Surrey was RCMP's largest detationment and they had a lot of officers in the city. There's a good chance our taxes will heavily increase because of this

I am so glad to see the RCMP gone in Surrey. Next is the so called Mayor. Im from Ontario where the only place you see the RCMP is the parliament building. We needed our own police service that care

Looking forward to the change / Hopefully they understand and respect our "Charter of Rights " . / Body worn camera's are a must to weed out the tyrant style policing / Welcome SPS .

Congratulations to the SPS for finally getting through the hurdle caused by your mayor. It's interesting to see such a new police department being built from the ground up, and being so progressive. Can't wait to see this police service grow. Though the RCMP is great, there are communities around the country that are losing faith in them, and it's just a matter of time before they exit contract policing. This is just the beginning, and a long time coming.

We are losing faith in the new rural Indian community arriving daily. They lack of civility and decorum. All over the GTA they are causing crimes and embarrassment, and they aren’t run by RCMP. Surrey will have zero change if we can’t stop their invasion.
