I cosigned for a sibling 10 years ago and am living with the ramifications of that decision. I was paying it for a year then she was supposed to take over payments and that never happened. As a result, a cosigner release is not an option now, I doubt she has the creditworthiness to refinance (without a cosigner), so I am coming to grips with the fact that I will probably have to pay this HUGE debt off myself. Q: Are there any other options that a co-signer has in debt that the primary borrower is not making payments?
