Could you provide links to any research supporting the conclusions surrounding herniated disks? I'm having trouble finding any in regards to decompression therapy

Does spinal decompression gets rid of bulging disc or herniated disk?
@COREChiropracticHouston Жыл бұрын
It really depends on how bad it is, how long you've had it, and a lot of other factors. Decompression does a great job in helping patients with bulging and herniated discs. Pain relief happens pretty quickly and we are seeing improved disc space heights on post-treatment x-rays.

How many different decompression devices are there? What is best for the cervical spine and bulged discs?
@COREChiropracticHouston2 жыл бұрын
There are a bunch - they all work pretty well, some are just more comfortable than others and price can vary a lot.

I have 2 herniated discs that are both 8 mm, I’m only 23 years old but my chiropractor has me on a decompression machine 3 times a week. Do you think this will solve my problem? I’m in pain 24 hours out of the day and it’s taking a big physical and mental toll on me. Let me know if you think this machine will help me. Thanks doc
@COREChiropracticHouston2 жыл бұрын
Spinal decompression works great for discs, but it's not 100%. You should notice improvement after a couple of weeks. We shoot for 50% improvement during that time frame. If it's not working, you may need something more invasive. We find we only have to send 1 - 2 patients per year for injections or surgery.

I've tried this a few times it seems to work over time but they want to charger me 55 dollars for 10 minutes in the chair .... that's to much.
@COREChiropracticHouston2 жыл бұрын
Some offices charge more than $150 for 10 minutes in the chair. We try to make it more affordable, and we offer packages that can give you a discount.

So i have spinal stenosis does this help with that
@COREChiropracticHouston Жыл бұрын
This depends on severity. We would need to do an exam and x-rays before making a determination that it can help you specifically or not. However, that is a condition that we see patients for using this treatment.

Does this treatment treat degenerative disc disease and lumbar spondylothesis
@COREChiropracticHouston Жыл бұрын
It helps with degenerative disc disease, but it's not a treatment to reduce sponylolisthesis. This will help in allowing for more space between vertebrae.

What does it mean if decompression just causes a sciatica flare up with a herniated disc
@COREChiropracticHouston2 жыл бұрын
Any time you're dealing with a disc, it can flare up easily. Movement, massage, stretching, adjustments, decompression, etc can all cause a temporary flare up. That doesn't mean it isn't helping.
