In California you would have to pull over for that. Our lightbars have to have at least one steady red visible to 1000ft in the front to be a legal emergency vehicle.

In California they (the legal system) also encourage criminal activity by not hold anybody responsible for their actions. So, the police emergency lights don't really do anything anyway. Also, the rest of the USA doesn't give a damn about the cesspool California has become. Keep your insanity in your borders and get off our lawn.

That's California Law...since the invention of red lights,. I believe: I remember this from HIGHWAY PATROL in 1955 on thru" EMERGENCY.
@commanderb-tron9316 ай бұрын
That's not correct for any US State. California uses that steady burn to have a constant indicator that there is an "what ever" emergency vehicle, running lights and siren hast nothing to do with that steady burn. They use steady burn only (old LAPD units) at the front or in combination with flashing lights. You don't have to pull over for what ever steady burn red/blue light on any emergency vehicle unless the siren is on, manual or constant mode or airhorn that indicates that the driver is supposed to pull over (give way or traffic stop ect).

@commanderb-tron931 I am a retired California police officer. I know for a fact what the Vehicle Code states. All emergency vehicles must at a minimum have 1 steady burning red light visible to 1000 ft in front. And yes, you are required to pull over if only a single red light is being displayed. Come to California, not pull over, and see how that works out for you.

@@LottiDotti76 pull over: steady (and flashing lights except LAPD units 😉) + you are required to use the siren in any form permanent/manual/horn! Otherwise it's just an indicator for emergency vehicles doing what ever. The steady burn is required for all emergency vehicles in CA not only police. Code says: 21806. Upon the immediate approach of an authorized emergency vehicle which is sounding a siren and which has at least one lighted lamp exhibiting red light that is visible, under normal atmospheric...

It’s called “cruise” mode. It’s not new. It’s actually law in CA that there must be one lamp on “red cruise” at all times during “code 3” or “10-18”. I question if that guy was actually a trooper when he said they he wish he had it when he was patrolling. FHP had cruise on their old blue bubble gum machine back in 60s, 70s into the 80s.

Is the camera running in that solid color mode?

The body cam is also on and it when the lights start flashing it records the audio and sets it as mandatory review and the dash cam is always on including audio
@dehz49489 ай бұрын
No, the camera is not on. That would be too much space as some departments have these running ALL night as a visual aid to identify law enforcement. However, once you go into code then that's when the in car video system would start recording.
@phoenixgamer81347 ай бұрын
Mabye, most times police cars have dashcam that is almost always on while the vehicle is in motion, or if turned on by the officer controlling the car
@newcountrymanoldcountrysou9667 ай бұрын
