I'm moving overseas! A year ago I moved from the USA to the Cayman Islands. Not much of a stretch, but there were some things to get used to. I haven't been back to US or seen any friends/family in a year and that is actually perfectly OK with me! I need to leave Cayman in about a year due to my visa. I am looking at Mexico City and BA. Maybe a few other Latin countries as well. I do have two little dogs, so BA sounds nice for them. Cayman is VERY EXPENSIVE. I would like to lower my living expenses. I am paying $3,000 a month for rent, utilities and internet now. I would love to get all three for $1,500, maybe $2,000. Is that doable in Recoleta or other areas close to parks and coffee shops? I love coffee shops. I try to be plant based too. I've seen videos saying that is doable as well. I am 61, single male. I have a very good job with a USA company that I can do anywhere within the USA timezones. I need to research the visas for this in BA, but I think they will have something within the next 12 months when I need to move. thank you!! Bernie

That’s more than doable in Argentina. 2 thousand bucks are around 1 million pesos. And the minimum wage here is of around 80/90 thousand pesos. As you can imagine, you dollars will go very far in here. There are whole 400 sq meter apartments in argentina for 2k, in very posh french styled buildings in good neighborhoods (which is over the top for a single guy tbh, you wouldn’t be able to give use to all the rooms haha) Wifi, cable and all of that is very cheap, you can get all of that in a bundle (internet, mobile carrier, cable) for under 50 bucks. You can get top notch private healthcare for around 100 bucks (tho there’s definitely cheaper options). Honestly you can live however you want with that kind of money in Buenos Aires. Most families live well with less than that. So for a single guy you’ll be more than fine.
