I am a teenager, having just passed class 12.And I faced this problem everyday. How is it possible that I am interested in these brilliant discussions with AIM, but was never interested in my higher secondary studies??? They even dictated us the practicals man!! Sometimes they didn't even give us the time to think and understand things on our own. I was an extremely interested student till class 10,as my teachers in my previous school were far more open to curiousity and questions. They even let us debate things . But the place where I studied my +1 and + 2 was and is,extremely intolerant. So, I lost interest, gradually.They hated us asking questions. All they bothered was make us score well. And I believe, this problem increases as we move on. It is impossible that students can be uninterested, when you teach them well, and are open to their ideas. Period. Well it is certainly true that violence do play a role in death of pagan culture but the main reason is the conversion of ruling class which lead to conversion of populace. And it just don't happen with paganism even chrtistanity in Egypt and Levant has been wiped out due to conversion of ruling class. All of this never happened in India in the past and now when there is democracy it is almost not possible. We have to learn from Japan shintoism is still thriving the reason is the Japanese ate economically prosper and they have their own version of modernity. Hindus can do that too. AIM is just a defence analyst he may be knowledgeable but any one can gain knowledge via books. He is not a prophet who can prophesied what will happen in future no one can predict future accurateely. I think the problem starts with bhakti which is an extremely faith and devotion based system little to do with philosophy. Philosophy is the mother of science but in faith based system science part of philosophy became stagnant. I mean bhakti is not concerned with the pramanas it is more concerned with devotion towards God. And it doesn't just happen in India in the west before protestant reformation when chrtistanity is too much faith based science was not progressing there.
