In order for people(me) to properly form sentences in Chinese. We need to hear the literal translation so our minds speak that way. Too many teachers give the “American” translation which causes me to translate the english to chinese in an American sense… which is usually wrong…. I guess the short end of my comment is thank you for the literal translations😅

the best part of not being a native eng spk learning Mandarin is that in my language (Br portuguese) we can say things with different order and it doesn't affect that very much the meaning, so saying "what do you want" and "you want what" is literally the same for us (o que você quer, você quer o que) but what changes is that it looks a little more rude, but for learning reasons i don't mind lit translating that down on my notebook

I really like it when you suddenly crack a smile/laugh while explaining Teacher Andy, which I think is great for students to be at ease in learning. 😊 Question: can you answer questions "incompletely" just like in English (or Tagalog, my native language)? When asked "Nî yào nâ gè píngguô?", can one answer with just "Nà gè dà de"? I haven't read the comment section much so not sure if this was already asked. 😊 Thanks for doing an awesome job! 🤩
@张蛋疼2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can.This is a very native way to answer. Just like most languages, you can always "this" or "that" to anything 🤣 Or, you can even just say "da4 de", if you are in a informal context and talking with friends or family

您好Andy老师. Thank you so much for this lesson. It clarified a lot of things. I have a question on the same. How do you know where to put the question word? Is it always after the verb or before the object? That part really confuses me.

Good question. You need to know the basic Chinese word order first and replace a part of the sentence with a question word like WHAT, WHO, WHEN, WHERE and HOW. You can check out this video to know the basic word order in Chinese👇 kzbin.info/www/bejne/mmrMgKFvn9xlo7c
