I've seen a LOT of different "Teaching" videos on KZbin and I have to say, this is the first one I have recommended to friends. The combination of information, camera angles, and the amazing editing you did by inserting taxi diagrams etc was just fantastic. I have seen a lot of King videos and even met John and Martha and your stuff is even better. Keep up the great work brother.

Because of this I like to show these videos to people newly introduced to aviation. Without all the technical jargon it really helps inexperienced pilots grasp how simple, safe, and fun flying can be.

@@alphaecho4189 Good for you! General aviation is seen by many as difficult and “exclusive.” It shouldn’t be. Anyone with the desire can pick up this wonderful interest. I am proof of that.

@@737simviator I am also looking into getting these licenses in Australia soon. May I ask which flight school you have gotten these prices from. I was originally going to go to UNSW Bachelor of Aviation course which gets you a CPL and an ATPL. They also have a QANTAS Link which enters you to the cadet ship program to receive a job straight after training. Should I go to flight school or the UNSW course.

Simulated Reality hi I have some questions because I will try to get all the qualifications to be a pilot in aus. What ATAR do you need to get? Is it better to go to uni for 1 year or just go to flight school? If I get my qualifications in Australia can I go work in a different country? Thanks

This video gives you an idea of what you'll learn on your first flying lesson. It is not specific to any one airplane which is why some procedures specific to this airplane have been omitted. It is not meant to replace actual flight training. Hope you enjoy it.

Hmm, i agree 100% with you....The one thing that caught my attention, and it was really interesting to know (and i haven't seen it in any other aviation videos), is that to turn the plane to the left or to the right you just press the pedals with your feet! Wow, that was like a revelation to me!

Hi Captain Scott, I am a 75 year-old Aussie who took a few flying lessons in a 152 Aerobat 25 years ago before running out of funds to even go solo. Unfortunately, now too sick to even consider lessons, but so enjoy the clear way in which you describe what is going on. I almost feel that I am in the cockpit and taking a lesson with you. I’ve flown out of PAE since 1974 - 13yo. I have referred several to your channel. My mentor actually was on the bulldozer that pushed the dirt to make PAE back in the late 1930’s. Keep of the good work.

Your a very good teacher. My daughters gave me some time in the right seat at a local airport. I have been watching as much as possible about the first flight from airport markings / Alpha thru Zulu talk speak. The ride will be wonderful but the learning aspect is just as interesting. I know everyone is different but seeing this before hand helps me not to get tooooo over loaded mentally. I hope! Thanks again, good job.

OMG, this is soooo very valuable. I'm in ground school now and want to maximize my time with my CFI. It is hard to over-state how much information and value we (students) are getting from these videos. I'm going to be flying out of Renton initially - so the WA connection is a nice bonus (as I'll be flying out to KPAE at some point).

@@rockydlife sigh...fog hit the Northern Calif area that morning...then I departed for a planned motorcycle trip...i get back in a couple of days with three lessons scheduled...but forecast is rain. Sigh. Meantime I'm studying the Cessna 172 handbook and reading the assigned flight manual. 😳

My CFI was a bit more gruff than you, Cap'n Scott. He was an old A-6 pilot from the 'nam era. He was direct, to the point, and didn't take any shortcuts (not saying you're not good). When it came time to solo, I wasn't scared; I knew I was ready. Same for that PPL check ride. Glad I got to learn with him! May he RIP.
