#Namaskaar Amit ji I have dzire vdi AMT driven 20400 km in 10 months. Apni car se SHIMLA gaya tha or JIM CORBETT Tiger reserve mein safari bhi ki koi problem nahi hui.k kai log hill mein Manual gaadi clutch or accelerator se hold karke rakhte hain or mein AMT m hand break se Bajaye accelerator k (as no clutch😎) sayad issliye milage acchi mili. Hills mein gaadi ne 22.9 ki average dikhai 2 minus kare toh bhi lagbhag 21 ki average hills mein or wo bhi Shimla k jam k ander, sayad more than enough hai. DELHI k traffic m bhi Same milage for 45 km drive( including rajpath k pass 8 km 1.5 ghante mein☺️) Actual milage - lowest 21 kmpl city and hills, highest 24 on highway( after subtracting 2 km from tachometer) . This figure is after 1st major service(osse pahle ye 18 se 21 thi) Friend ki dzire manual hai or oski actual milage hai 19-26. Toh muje lagta hai ki amt jyada better hai. Kyonki aajkal sabhi gaadi 60-70% city m chalti hai jahan lower milage jyada significant hai. AMT Bahut relax rehta hai or thkaan nahi hoti. Haan 0.5 second ka delay hai gear shifting mein lkin oski addat ho jati hai(but no rubber band effect like cvt and shifts from 5th to 3rd for quicker overtaking on highway) and manual option as bonus Overall a great package as compared to manual for self driving at additional cost of just about 50k.

After doing some serious research I bought Manual car. Drawbacks of AMT/AGS: 1. The first major drawback I found is that AMT/any Automatic Gear shift is linear. Means it will upshift 1, 2, 3, 4 then 5th gear. Same for downshift 5, 4, 3, 2nd gear even if you are driving in manual mode. You can not go from 5th to 3rd gear directly by pressing clutch. I found it is sometimes necessary to downshift from 5th to 3rd to overtake a fast moving vehicle on indian highway. 2. In AMT car you can not park the car in gear mode. I can't rely on handbrake to park a car on stiff incline or hill. In manual we can park the car on 1st gear to achieve braking. 3. In manual car you can disengage the gear from engine by pressing clutch. In this way you can achieve friction braking. You can roll a manual car on bad indian roads using clutch. In this way you can save brake pads. 4. On a bad Indian road AMT will struggle. As you can not use clutch to save brake pads. Brakes will worn much faster in AMT cars. Same for other hydraulics used in AMT clutch/gear as there will be continuous upshifting and downshifting of gears. 5. You cannot push the AMT car to start the engine in case of battery failure whereas in manual car you can do that in worst scenario. 6. Manual cars are tested and proved efficient for long time whereas AMT cars are relatively new in India. Maruti launched Celerio AMT on 2015 which was the first low budget AMT car in India. So, I didn't found any long term review after 100000 km as of now. Conclusion: If you are an expert manual car driver then I would suggest you to go for Manual car otherwise you might be disappointed.

I am using Tiago Amt since 2 years now. Sports version. Been to goa munnar ooti etc and major hills not in north but stull steep hills . Smooth and enjoy to drive. My first car and i live it. Playing Nfs helped me 😀 ..couldnt drive gear car .. stopped 10 times in gear car on my fathers car. I love AMT

I live in a hilly area in Himachal Pradesh I personally feel that there is lag in power delivery in AMT cars over manual cars while going uphill so I suggest manual car in hilly terrain this also gives confidence in driving

With Manual System, we control back or sliding movement by Clutch keeping at breaking point. But, with AMT, clutch itself is not there, so how is breaking point achieved?
