The point that Cliff is trying to make to these students is that if you say, “I don’t need God” then you can’t claim that morality is objective due to its own definition. Definition of Objective: (of a person or their judgment) not influenced by personal feelings or opinions in considering and representing facts. For morality to be objective, that means there has to be a source outside of humanity that establishes it. So if morality is subjective (based on or influenced by personal feelings, tastes, or opinions) then no one is right or wrong. That is why he uses the example of the Nazi’s, South African Apartheid’s, Child Abusers, Murderers; if morality is subjective then who are you tell them they are wrong. The bottom line, most of these students are saying, “I decide what is right and wrong.” The problem is in reality, it doesn’t work that way.

You cannot lead someone in denial to a real conclusion. I am glad he heard it. Maybe it will sprout later in his life. Most people have no clue what they are living for, they just do. Many philosophers have lamented that. It takes real guts to ask those questions. We all die some day, hope they ask those before then. You gain ownership of your life, just to realize you hand it out daily to something or someone. That kid didn't have ownership yet, but he thought he did. You don't own yourself, no matter what you do. Deep truths are hard to find. God Bless Cliffe.

When it comes to the question of why, Atheism withers at it's Core. The boy was confident and devout in his Atheism but had no solid foundation upon where he stood. While Cliff gave ample reason for his faith, the Atheist stood in a huge slump. He had no real answers at all and relied upon a self imposed "impass" as an escape mechanism for his stupor.

@ 19:17 - is he actually suggesting that God made him an atheist !?! & Cliff let'm get away with it ! I realize as I watch this, how much as a younger man I resisted being boxed in by titles... But the older I get & the more knowledgeable & informed I got about what these positions espouse, I realize how appropriate they are... Like Narcissistic, Materialist, Atheist, Agnostic, etc... Hopefully this young man grows to realize his need for Christ! Titus 2:13

Once a friend and I were witnessing to an old German guy in the shopping centre. He told us he was happy and he doesn’t need religion. My friend asked him what was he living for to make him happy and could he give us some tips? All he could tell us was “selfishness” at least he was honest. Haha

I have never been able to understand why so many people who argue against a belief in God are SO angry. When they argue in that way, they often come across as insulting, rude, arrogant, and smug- whether they realize it or not, and they do it from the very start of a conversation. It makes me wonder if they just do it because they think it's funny. I truly dont understand it.

If I am making the highways and streets a better place and I know the best speed limit on the interstate should be 90mph. Now if another person is also trying to make the streets a more peaceful place thinks it should be 35mph and another 60mph. Although rules on the road differ from Gods law, it still shows that having one law to follow is more beneficial than each person following their own rule.

Once again, I submit that you DO need intelligence at "some point" in time to "begin" any process. And that's what evolution is, a process. If we are to believe caused the big bang, thus putting the cycle of evolution in motion, we have a problem. What is the "cause"? We have to keep going back, and back, and back until we find something. Because you cant convince me "nothingness" caused "something".

The kid in the striped shirt is very confused he's conflicted with himself and his own thoughts he goes back and forth and then he tries to play God of being God over himself and others that he says no just about himself then you can't even answer that correctly he should definitely think about what he's saying before you say it we all make those mistakes but when you presenting a belief system before selling your debating you should know your own belief system and understanding.
@Siscast

I don't think the striped kid understand that our faith in God and Jesus Christ is not just a general universal claim about the universe but it forms our identity as born again children of God and is the complete foundation of our worldview and everything we say and do in this life.

I have to give credit to the young atheist debaters in this video, they are working so hard to follow what cliffe says, but Cliffe keeps mangling his english in order to force the debate topic to fit his talking points. The words 'objective', 'subjective', 'faith', 'worship', 'existence'... etc... they just come out of his mouth and we are supposed to puzzle together what version of the word best fits his argument. The students actually did a good job pointing this out, so i dont know why i am

Jesus Christ talked about creation of the first male and female and also the most important old testament characters like Noah, Abraham, Jacob, Moses, Jonah, Elijah, David, Solomon and queen of Sheba. The world was formed through Jesus Christ. Sin has deformed us but Jesus came to transform the body, soul, and the spirit. No body can avoid moral values like 10 commandments. Sodom and Gomorrah is the proof that God gives judgement. see www.gotquestions.org

That all makes sense friend, until you come to those tricky words like "selection" and "intelligence". The human eye is far more complicated than anything we, as humans, have ever invented. My question is; What are the chances evolution is behind this virtual impossibility? Your faith has to be 50 times stronger than any christian to believe evolution is the "creator" of such masterpiece. My answer is an intelligent mind created an intelligent eye. God.

"basic instinct installed". That takes "information" does it not? You use the word "installed" as if nature itself has some sort of learning system or reasoning. As if nature improved upon some sort of trial and error. But if you believe in nothingness before all this came to be, how does this "nature" your so fond of gather information and then give us reasoning? It's a flawed argument. The only way we could have anything "installed" as you put it, is from info. Where does that come from?

The philosophy taught in our culture by scientists is the to give worship and awe to nature. They claim you should respect all those who know more about nature than you and to listen to their evaluations. Anthropologically is is simply polytheism and nature worship, choose what animal or natural force you like most and compare yourself to it. It isn’t rational, it’s faith, they elevate themselves by associating with observable processes in nature something akin to pagan shamans. They literally assert that they are important and intellectually elite because they have studied nature longer than others.
