Glad to see someone normalizing stretching out reties. I started my microlocs last year and quickly lost a lot of my Locs thanks to the loctician insisting that I do 3 week reties. Even threatening me if I didn’t. I stopped going to her and now I retie at home. I’m about 4 months due and my hair is finally catching up and regrowing where I lost Locs. Now is a good time for me to retie.

I only go two months before my next retie. She did a great job, but it seems she tighten them really tight; I would never retighten that close to the scalp but each their own.

I saw that too, especially if you are trying to regrow your edges.

I really just wanted to try something different lol so in between interlocking, I was retwisting to still maintain my locs

What does she use to retie your hair? She did a really great job and your hair is absolutely gorgeous! Great job! 💖✨️💖👸🏾💯

Thank you! She uses a crochet needle (not my fav tool)!

I should've specified what I meant, my bad. As far as products, what twisting paste/gel does she use? Your parts are so crisp and defined! My loctitian also uses a crochet needle... I'm not opposed honestly! I'm on a 10 week retightening schedule and I try to stick with it and not go a week or day before that. I am really scared of thinning, so I too, am sure to stretch mine out to avoid over manipulation! So far so good.

@@mstiptip22does your loctician charge extra for being on a 10 week schedule or no because that schedule works for your hair? Mine charged extra for anything after 6 weeks do I DIY retie now
@mstiptip22Күн бұрын
@AccioXwing no, he does have a flat rate per hour charge though! It's all getting so expensive so I definitely have to budget! I just look at it as my self-care day! I'm on the hunt for a reputable loctitian though because in my area quality and educated loctitians are very scarce! I had to change up from the one that started my locs due to her having a consistent bad attitude, blatant disrespect on my last visit, and her telling me, despite my hair needs, that she would service me if I was interested in interlocking. I'm like but we both see that retwisting alone is not working for my hair type 🤦🏾♀️.It's truly been a process, but I've chosen to trust it, and know that I'll find the right person to educate and service my hair needs, I just have to learn not to settle and when it's the right time to make a move.
