Look into Melaninlocs she’s in Conyers not sure how far that would be for you and she uses the actual tool you are talking about. 2.5 to 3hrs at the most for a retie!

Sprites your scalp/hair with water to release the tension from your retie. You’ll get some relief. That helps me a lot when getting a fresh retightening.

Hey girl, your hair looks great! I agree with you I can’t have my hair too tight either. I’m planing to get micro locs done this year. Hopefully this summer. Haven’t decided it I will do them myself or have someone install them. I’ve been doing research on them off and on for a while now. I’ve been a loose natural for 12 years now. I’m ready!!

Talk to her about the tool if you like her work! I feel ya on the barbershop aspect. When I first went natural I went to the place where my son got his hair cut bc there was a salon on the the other side.bit wad split in half. It definitely changes the dynamic!😂

The lady that did my install used the crochet hook and it was tight! And it seemed to snatch my hair more.

Could it just be that she did too many rotations? When I saw the tool she was using, I was like NOPE 😆 but I'm not sure if it would have anything to do with the tightness. Love your videos sis 😁

I do my own reties but when I do them too tight I be worried about my locs thinning so I rinse them in the shower and it loosens them. I feel you sis. We ain't taken no chances 🤣

You have me wondering now. My loctitian uses the same crochet tool and it seems impossible to get reties that are less tight. It could her doing too many rotations, technique or the tool. Something for me to consider.

Thanks for sharing. Yeah, it looks very tight. But I don't think the problem is the tool, but the loctician did too many rotations. You have to tell her/him the moment you realize it's too tight. You should be able to put the loc in any direction without the hair pulling.

Your hair looks great. Concerning the tightness, I don't think it's the tool. She just did it tight. It would have been tight had she used the other tool that you were speaking of because they're doing rotations. She has to stop before they get to the point where it's so tight. I am trying to grow in my edges as well, so I will be looking at your videos of what you are using for your edges.

😂 I love this! Hilarious! But real talk… its when u look your worst (Grocery store run) when you meet your future husband! They see you and think yup I can wake up to that… forever! 😂Your hair is gorgeous… if you live near Roswell I can give you a recommendation. She does a good job she’s quick and has a private suite. I’m pleased with her work.

The blow dryer and the crochet hook turned me off instantly. I don’t like the possible snagging that can occur.

See, I use a blow dryer on my own locs 😂 but the crochet hook was not for me!
