A real joy! Doesn't it make it all the more remarkable, though, that Tchaikovsky's invention survives intact without the orchestral textures? A master of melody, harmony as well as setting perfect little miniatures to music. I've heard a lot of people say that Tchaikovsky uses orchestration to hide his (alleged) deficiencies in other areas. Not here!
@gezginpaksoy966510 жыл бұрын
Deficiencies like sacrificing musical form to emotion, melody or not to have the abilty of building complex, organic, intermingled symphonies like Beethoven? They are not deficiencies. It is his style. His style was making an highly emotional music just the way it is and not bothering with building mighty structures or developing it. He even said 'I hate musical ideas that needs development'. Even though he said that he has a couple of fugues which are great. For his orchestration, his orchestration was not colorful just to be colorful but his expression and intensity demanded it to be colorful. He best expressed his emotions using ingenious orchestral combinations, textures so on. If he used an oboe in some random swan lake piece he used it because only an oboe there would give the most emotional result.
@ryofurue9 жыл бұрын
+Gezgin Paksoy "He even said 'I hate musical ideas that needs development'. " --- Wow, did he say that? He was a different sort of genius from Beethoven for sure. I admire both. But, La valse des fleurs is overwhelmingly beautiful.

As much as i prefer The Legendary Economou recording, (paired with "Cinderella"), this performance is a Stunner. Ms. Argerich works well with ANYONE, and this is why i Love watching Her perform 2 Piano Works, because, as usual, She is NOT Focussed on Argerich, or Zilberstein or Kissin or Lang-Lang, Her focus is The Composer. If you want to Hear The True Voice of ANY Composer, listen to Ms. Argerich playing it. Period. A wonderful Performance sadly marred badly by a terrible recording.
