Really great stuff. The misconceptions you guys were talking about about the sacrificial system and the ceremonial moral laws ect was exactly what I believed because I heard it so many times growing up I just assumed it were true Thanks for all the great insight. These videos are great.👍

I hope we see more of these "talks to scholars" videos. It's getting rare to see good bible teaching in the western church circles anymore unfortunately.

@43m A very confused and confusing explanation from Prof. Averbeck of what is, essentially, a dispensational, view of what Ezekiel 40-48 is referring to regarding a new temple in a future millennium. There is no real need to reference how Jewish believers in Christ may have viewed the temple in the days of the transition from the Old to the New Covenant. The question is, though: If there is no need for Jewish converts to Christ to attend a physical temple now, then why should there be the need for Jewish believers to even build, never mind attend a physical temple in the future? The most plausible explanation is that the dispensational interpretation of Ezekiel 40-48 is wrong. Ezekiel is prophesying using figurative language, not literal, even if Ezekiel himself may have believed he was speaking literally. Jesus spoke, concerning the physical temple, that it would be thrown down, (and it was in AD 70), and then that He would build it again 'after 3 days', which is clearly a reference to His bodily resurrection. The need for a physical temple for Jews converting to Christ is over. The spiritual temple of Christ has come.
