My man loves strategy games while I’m more of a casual player doing this and that and looking more into stories and atmosphere than being optimal in every regard. So when talking about Pokémon for example, I talk about how cute Pokémon are and the possible meaning of the game narrative whereas he talk more about stats and team strategy. We often talk past eachother in that regard but I always try to make an effort to look things up about what he is talking about when I get lost and I tell him that I need to look it up. Ladies if you don’t understand something, just Google what you don’t understand and learn. You man will be happy about you learning and you might find out something he didn’t!

Doctors, Lawyers, and Musicians were all still interested in their subjects before they got paid for their field and their interest ended up benefiting them later on in their career when it was mandatory to know certain facts. Also, I don't think it's wrong if you put the time aside to learn about something that brings you joy even if it doesn't help you out in the long run.

I learned football from my son playing. Starting around 3rd grade, he will be a senior next year. I can proudly say I know offense has 4 tries, how many points a touchdown/field goal is worth, what each position does, and the ultimate goal of getting 1st downs until a touchdown. I still get confused by alot of things. Like what constitutes as actual holding and what a safety is. It’s still extremely hard for me to keep track of where the ball is. I still do the basic “get him!!” yelling. I always thought it was so cool and envied the dads that yell things like “hold your block” or “stay in your lanes” (yelling at the defensive team during kickoff). I just don’t know enough still to this day to be confident to yell stuff like that 🤣

Take her to a live game. Hockey is great, but it’s better the first time to see it live, in my opinion. I wasn’t into it until my son started playing peewee and I had to learn all the rules since my husband couldn’t get off for most of the practices and the games.

I find ice hockey to be one of easier sports to watch. It’s fast, and the clock keeps going (unlike football where it seems like the last two minutes can really be 20 more minutes. I just commented somewhere else I remember staying up to watch an insanely long flyers penguins game like in the late 90s, and my fiancée actually fell asleep. I only got a couple hours of sleep that night….it went so long!
