EMPIRE (FEAT. BINGX) // LYRICS
They tell me life is short
In the blink of an eye we come and die
Keep it in mind that life is war
Stay grounded, fly and soar
Always know what you fighting for
Aging fast, gotta pave a path and go figure out what my life is for
Quick witted and everyday I gotta switch lanes
Fuck race, no pigment
I got thick skin, making big waves
Positive being positive is my legacy
Pray for me, or make way for me
Because I’m setting out to go change the earth, and I just may
My life is was I call it, and I call it successful
Now everybody wanna eyeball it, like “how the fuck he do that though?”
Take pride in your every action
Everyday of my life is work
They say time is money and I know what that time is worth
Even if the sky was falling down
Even if the sky was falling, I’m not falling down
I stand tall through it all, I’ve risked too much to just give up now
I’m pushing on through
Sure as the tide rolls in at night
I'll still be here at the of days screaming at the sky
Let the fire consume and cleanse what's before me
Behold, I'll build my empire before the ashes hit the ground
Life inside a piece of paper, live it through my pen and pad
Lead inside my pencil like the hammer on my pistol back
There ain't no hitting back
Life it ain't no tennis match
All over the net but that ain't where I do business at
Face to face with adversity and intimidation
This is real, this is raw, ain't no imitation
No limitations ain't a ceiling in sight
There ain't no rules or regulations either yield or you fight
Just take a look at where I been that's some appealing advice
‘Cause you can build until it falls or keep it real and you rise
Even if the sky was falling down
Even if the sky was falling, I’m not falling down
I stand tall through it all, I’ve risked too much to just give up now
I’m pushing on through
Sure as the tide rolls in at night
I'll still be here at the of days screaming at the sky
Let the fire consume and cleanse what's before me
Behold, I'll build my empire before the ashes hit the ground

I'm happy to see Asking Alexandria moving on, and evolving in their genre of music. We the fans have best of both sides, we've gotten some of the best Metal Core Albums ever created, I'm fine with how AA is turning Now. Plus it's never to late to come back to the sweet Metal Core.

I'm not sure how some people thought this was one of the worst songs from this album. I know I'm saying this as it's one of my favorites, but I think it's actually one of the best songs on the entire record because it actually works really well despite it featuring a rap artist, which for the most part is usually hit or miss when it comes to rock/metal songs.

Fuck what everyone says. Bands can't stay on the brutal, metal, bandwagon forever. Yeah it's a big leap from their previous music. But this album offers diversity, and it's what they want to do. I personally love it. Stop the negativity. If any remembers, Chester Bennington hated how everyone bashed his new music, and how everyone wouldn't move one from hybrid theory. Rest his soul, look what happened to him. Just enjoy the music and stop bashing bands for changing their sound...

@kevinbag1
@kevinbag1 6 жыл бұрын
Yes saying "brutal" was an over exaggeration. Yes I 100% agree that tons of bands are progressing while still continuing to play heavier music. My point is, the band wants to play what they want, and what THEY enjoy. Many bands are doing the same: The Word Alive, BMTH, Of Mice and Men, and now AA. The song Alone in a Room literally describes that problem Danny faces. So no not every band has to sellout, I never once said that. I'm saying if a band wants to expand their music, then they should be able to do it without their fans hating them and bashing them for it. If you disagree then you're the problem...

This is not at all what I was expecting from AA. However I love the way they have even loved and I absolutely love the sound, lyrics, vocals and just this album all together is a great start to a new chapter for AA. Great works boys!

Eu agradeço bastante por terem mudado o estilo musical e saírem daquele redondo de Stand Up And Scream, porque ?

I'm usually much more a fan of AA's heavier songs but I really like this. Good to see the guys are mixing it up with some songs and sticking to the roots with others. They can't make every song sound the same not just for the fans but also for themselves. Would u want to play a show every night with the same songs and same vocals with the same riffs? I know I wouldn't

I would really love to hear an album made with a mix between "dead" "breathless" and their new more mature sound.....I still love the heavier double bass drumming and shredding guitar that drops into an anthemelodic chorus and a bridge thats a build up of emotion that you can feel in your entire body....but no matter what I will always love these guys no matter what they do....
