What a brilliant song. This song really hit me hard. I have been trying to find myself for years. I have on several occasions tried to end my life, the most recent was when I admitted to a mental health facility back in February. When released after 5 days all my dad could say to me was, I am so disappointed in you. Depression, PTSD and my mental health is a major struggle for me and has been since I was young. Now 48 these demons are still there but I am fighting them. I have my good and bad days but don't we all.

“What will it take/How many times do I have to break before you get it/ I don’t wanna be what you remember/ It’s my sanity and happiness, it’s not fucking about you” So much sense. They are human beings, Danny is a person, you don’t own him. So many people act like they ‘own’ this band and think they can dictate the direction they take. Let them make whatever music they want to. Happiness is the only thing that matters. I haven’t been a huge fan since FDTD like some of you, but who tf cares. They love what they do and that’s what matters. There’s other bands to suit your taste if they’ve moved away from what you enjoy. People grow and change. But I dig this album and it’s honesty for sure.
@queenofdarkness33413 жыл бұрын
not really. we just miss the actual metal. each album just seems softer and softer.
@ChealyTheNinja3 жыл бұрын
@@queenofdarkness3341 it’s okay not to like it. But the way some people act is completely unreasonable and childlike. I can’t imagine what it’s like to a have hordes of people constantly commenting shit about you every day for doing the thing you love. Wonder how that went for others? Chest Bennington anyone?
@queenofdarkness33413 жыл бұрын
yes theres other bands i love but AA is better than those(when they did it) bands so i just want to hear some metal from them again even if it were just 1 or 2 throwback songs on albums its not about us thinking we own them at least not for me i respect the growth but i think its good to appeal to different types of fans i hope that makes sense?
@ChealyTheNinja3 жыл бұрын

I remember being in high-school as a scene kid, Asking Alexandria is one of the first bands I really started listening to growing up that was much more heavy. I saw them live a few times and they always naild it, I think part of me is who I am because of music like this. They changed alot and gone through so much, but still every album is great in its own personal way. I hear what your saying, me and Danny are about the same age. When they dropped Stand up and scream I was in high-school and still to this day I follow their music, and I probably always will. 33 now and still rocking with this music 🎶 once you find this music and appreciate it for what it's worth and for for it means, me personally, I think it becomes a part of you. The sounds, the groups, the lyrics, the bass, the mosh, the feeling, the heart aches, the rise and fall of it all. It sticks like white on rice my man

I hope you all realize that this is about everyone asking for more old songs that they just don't want to do but there's fans that push and pull them apart to points that they really don't feel as if they are sure who they are or what they want/need the band to be. Obviously they want the band to be what makes them who they are yet fans of the past keep haunting them. They feel used, broken and lost because they aren't sure what side to move towards. He can't scream like he used to, they are getting older and all they want to do is find the paths that they chose, not what others want for them. Like he says in this song, it's his happiness not yours! They made good music in the past and now they are making new music thats just as good, it's just not the same genre as it was. Let them do what they want to do and let them create what they want to create, its not your decision to make

This is a deep song if people look closer at the words Danny is singing you can tell that he is telling you that he doesn't want to be what you people remember him by. He doesn't want to be stand up and scream Danny nor reckless and relentless Danny. He wants to be a better Danny, a Danny that he can feel proud of. So for those saying they want Danny to go back to that, he is telling you that it's about his sanity, his help he is not doing it just to please you. People need to realize this and just get over it. This Danny in this album is phenomenal. I love this song!!
