It hurts even more when no one in the comments is talking about her scars. There are two types of scarring on her neck, the first is rope burn which occurs from friction against ropes during hanging (her scarring isn't so bad which means the scar is from an artificial rope, the cheap kind you often find on construction sites that's orange/blue), the second is from some kind of nylon wire, nylon because there's little friction marks and the cut is so precise, if the wire were metal the edges of the scar would be more jagged and overall deeper (think when you're hanging, your whole body weight is hanging from the throat, a metal wire is basically a cheese wire or garotte and would cut right through if it were thin enough.) This poor girl has attempted suicide at least twice. On another note, I'm actually shocked at my own thinking. I'm not attracted to her, nor is it my child or responsibility, yet I find myself incomprehensibly wanting to help her. Sigh. I'm going to end up as a step-dad, guess I'd better use Tinder.

I feel I must add this note to the young mother. My girlfriend when I was 19 got pregnant when I was dating her. So, I rearranged all my other life plans and married her so that we could raise the child and, eventually, her younger siblings. Eventually, I was able to get my schooling and career back on track. Once the children got a bit older I was able to pursue jobs that enabled me to provide pretty well for my family. I have either visited or worked in 20 countries. My wife and I now have 24 grandchildren. I know my circumstances are not the same as yours. I’m not holding myself up in comparison to you. I’m just trying to show you that there can be hope. Keep hanging in there. Keep focusing on what’s important as you are already doing. It’s all going to work out. Even though things are very hard right now. You can do this.

I had a classmate, we used to hang out because of mutual friends. She was really good looking and nice. I live in a very traditional country, pregnancy before marriage is frowned upon. One day I got the news she was pregnant when we were eating at the cafeteria. What fucking blew my mind was when her own friends spread rumors about her. She dropped out. Last time i saw her was when it was her son's first birthday. I asked her if she regretted it, but she just smiled said that it was the best decision she could have made for herself. I didn't ask anymore and just told her to take care of herself and her son. I saw her post on Facebook last time, she got a scholarship to go back to school. I hope people become more open and not jump to conclusions.

@@xzxz2169 you are so quick to judge and bash someone else, which is sad. You probably have a really negative mindset, I can tell you right now. That way of thinking, you will always see the negatives. Even in your own life. Also, Korea is a place where a lot of things are required by law. Like men serving two years in the military. Maybe she didn’t apply for government assistance. Maybe it’s something that is automatic. Also, my mother. Never was on government assistance. She worked two jobs as a teen, walked and took me on the bus with her everywhere. I grew up fine, I also served my country for 8 years :) traveled the world and was blessed to interact with everyone. In many situations, even teen pregnancy. Your so quick to judge someone by a “mistake” but it’s not a mistake at all. That baby is a blessing regardless of the time is was born. Everyone has their own path, & journey. Besides I know kids who are born to parents who are in their 40s, who are rich and yet the kid is miserable, parents are negative who bash their kids constantly and cause trauma. Don’t criticize anyone’s situation. Negativity will only take a toll on your life. Have a good day :) Xz xz ❤️‍🩹

Brazil has a amazingly large number of parental abandonment from the children's dads and I think that people should try to make these abandoners ashamed. When "making" a child you don't do it alone. So should be for raising a children. This isn't a responsability only for the mothers. Anyway, proud of everyone in this video! Wishing all best for brave Kim Jiwoo!

She was so strong and she still is today, I’m so proud of her for not abandoning her child. She wanted to be a mom but not at a young age. Today my nephew is 3 years old, my cousin and my nephew are both doing well, me and my cousin really never got to hear about the dad so I’m really glad about that. Seeing this video made me think that no matter how strong the mom is, she is always going to be strong.

So I had a woman from Korea come interview my class (because we had teen moms in it and on-site daycare for their children.) And she shared how so many babies get abandoned and die every year because kids aren't taught proper sexual education, hide pregnancies, and it's very taboo for teens to ask about + obtain birth control still.. and mainly there was zero supportive places for teen moms in Korea. Noone is perfect. These teens don't get pregnant by themselves but they always end up stuck with all the responsibility and everyone else's judgement. (Most teen pregnancies are cause by men 20-29 years old studies showed....) Actively choose kindness and choose to donate to programs that help & advocate for teen parents and their children. Leave your communities better/healthier/happier than you found them instead of gawk at, judge, and pick apart other human beings lives... This world is so miserable and dark as it is, why add to it...

I just want to say that you're a courageous young lady and doing a great job being there for your baby. It's not easy being a mom no matter what age you are or if your financially stable or not. I also want to remind you that not to make yourself fully responsible for getting pregnant. You had help. He should have worn a condom. Now he's a coward & ran away from his share of the responsibility. Does his family know about the baby? If not & when you’re ready, please make sure that they do because you don't want your child to fall in love with a sibling when it's an adult. That would be a shocker and heartbreaking. I wish you and your adorable baby the best sweetie 💓

Just saw these videos today. I must say that Yumi by far is my favorite person. The way she gets so upset for Jiwoo. I had my first baby at 17 so that would be 18 in korean age, I will never forget what one of the teachers at my school said to me. She was passing the halls and while walking past me said 'your life is over, you should get an abortion.' Hurtful in a lot of ways. My life wasn't over, it simply opened a new door in my life. Jiwoo, I hope you know that there are whole communities that are filled with single/teen moms who support each other, even from different countries. My older sister and I were raised by a single mother. It breaks my heart to see that people are so quick to judge you for the choices you have made, especially concerning your baby. It breaks my heart so see the rude questions they would ask. It makes me think about just how much my own mother had to go through it, even if she was already older (30-40) when she had me and my sister. You are so incredibly strong, and at the end of the day whatever choice you made is yours, and no one has the right to take that choice away. There's nothing to be ashamed of. I wish you only the best, for you and your baby. I promise you that, once your daughter is older she will be grateful for everything you've done for her, I know I am w/my own mom. We had several through out high school. I think about 3 or 4 my senior year, and that's just counting the senior in my small town of less than 2500 people. We have shows like Teen Mom and all of that here, so to hear these disgusting comments that were made to her is a GIANT culture shock, cause I had my sons at the same age she had her daughter and never once did I get asked any of these kinds of questions, hell most people complimented me on my well behaved sons.

I was very drawn to this video. I was a very young mother as well, 19 when I had my first. My kids are half Korean, the Korean on their bio dad’s side. I uprooted my life and moved to his city, near his family. I heard a lot of these exact questions. Not as direct, but I understood a lot of the backhanded comments. I carried myself like a very unconfident teenager (because I was) and people caught on very quickly. I saw a lot of these questions as personal attacks to my child but I never said anything back due to being afraid. I never stood up for myself and I wish I did. These words HURT badly. Their dad quickly disappeared from our lives, and the people who asked me these questions did as well. The sad part is, all these people are directly related to my children. And they said these things knowing full well that children absorb these negative feelings. I’m now 25, married to a man who loves my children endlessly. Things do get better and those lonely nights crying at your child’s bedside apologizing for being a single mother do fade. ❤️

I totally understand her. Even though I had two parents in my early childhood, I’m currently living with a single mother. The fact that she is doing this at 20 surprises me more. Honestly, “Responsibility doesn’t proportions with age” is the best line I got from this video so far. Some are just more mature than others and people should just be understanding, put yourself in other’s shoes (it’s difficult, but you just have to view it from their perspective). Knowing she is a single mother, I think the child will definitely know from an early age that she has a father, but she doesn’t see him often (bc he “ran off”). She’ll definitely be more mature than others for her age, but she’ll also feel a lack of fatherly/paternal love. I just want to help them live a better life, even from the screen.

My mom had me when she was 19, the guy didn't want to take full responsible of the consequence he made. Well she also received these kind of questions too in reality, but the truth is like what Jiwoo just said; she behaved well after she gave birth to her baby and my mom too. She used to confess to me without my existence in her life, she would've been worse and me in her life taught her to be independent and a matured woman, it's not something easy for woman to be single mother at the early age but it takes the strongest one to be a mother. When i was a little less mature, i used to put myself in comparison with other kids because my life was abnormal, other kids are having family in 1 house but not me and i always thought i was a mistake in this world, well it's no use for me to complain about my life because there's always a beauty out from the ugly and now I'm an adult, I'm proud of my mom because she raised me well and she also raised herself well and that's the beauty. So to all single mothers out there y'all shouldn't feel bad about having a baby at such an early age because life is not about being the same as others, we go through different journey to be the best form of ourselves. And to kids who are having abnormal life like me just know you're not a mistake, your existence in this world brings beauty to others. ❤

She is so strong. Raising a baby by yourself isn't easy so she is doing an amazing job. Just because she's young does mean anything. I say this because I know. I got pregnant and had my daughter at 19 too and I am a single mother. I'm 30 now and my daughter is 10 and going to be going to 6th grade and she keeps good grades. She is very smart, funny, talented, and kind. It doesn't matter if the child is from a single parent home or has bother parents because as long as the child is loved and taken care of that's all that matters. I can honestly say even here in America I have been asked some of those questions. These questions were upsetting to read. It also mad me mad because I know all too well the feeling that comes along with them. Those people were wrong there's nothing to be ashamed about.

They need to change their mindset, values and develope their social society to support single mothers. The stigma and prejudice about single mothers don’t belong in a developed country like South Korea. Such a shame. The same goes for Lgbtq rights. Stone age laws or lack of laws protecting lgbtq. Stone age thinking. All strength and love to Korean single mothers who didn’t give up their children for adoption❤

The baby is so cuteeee. I wish only the best to the both of them. And as someone that was raised by a single mom for many years( she had me at 22 and left my father when I was 3 yo) I can tell u that my life was the best this way. And even if I am myself rn 22 and don t think teenagers should have a lot of intercourse ( even if you know how to protect, there are many cases when it doesn t work), I don t think anybody should make her feel bad ab it. Like what s the point in this now, she had the baby and it s up to her to raise it. Older ppl could help her with the knowledge they have. She s so close to my age and so much mature, I admire her! Lots of love, they are both so lovely!

These videos are very important! Jiwoo deserves applause for discussing these comments head on! 🙂 And yes, sex is great, but it seems perhaps some eastern countries, like Korea, still lacks sexual education teaching teenagers to respect and understand the consequences and responsibilities of potential outcomes of sex. I bet some KZbin channels such as Giggle offer more education on certain intimate topics than schools do some places 😮

I cried. I am a little disappointed on myself for expecting more from people. The fact that she didn't give up on her baby should be enough for people to respect her. Alone at a young age raising a kid will be enough for her, she doesn't need that negativity as it's already hard for her. My sister gave birth at the age of 17, my nephew is 22 right now and they have a wonderful relationship they love each other so much that comforts my heart. She was 17 and single as well, and like always everyone even my father turned their back at her, no one talked about the father. She did everything she could for her son and their bond now it's like no other. I wish this girl the best for her and her baby and even with the hardships she can still thrive and accomplish anything she puts her mind to, and now even more that she has a powerful reason. And people out there remember, honesty without empathy is cruelty! Words can cause damage, before speaking please mind rethinking what you are going to say.

Well, that's because internationally at the time this video was made, she was technically 18-19. In the previous video, she was in, she said she was born in 2003, so that makes her 19 this year. I think that's why they're harsher on mothers her age.

Just because your family looks good on the outside doesn't mean it's actually good for the baby. This girl has NO ONE helping her, and she still chooses to keep her baby. Clearly she has so much love to give, which is much better than arguing parents or even emotionally, physically, sexually abusive parents who ALWAYS hide what they're doing.

That baby is the most precious thing in her life. My baby brother had his firstborn with his partner when he was just 19yrs old, I’m proud of him for what he is doing to raise his child. Don’t feel like you have to comply with other people’s opinions or following standards. You are a great mother to her, I just wish you and your baby all the best. 김범아 너무 귀여워, 새해 복 많이 받으세요😁

proud of not using sound judgement and having a child at such a young age? who i feel sorry for is the child who will be one to suffer with growing up in a single parent household and all the challenges that entails because their parents couldnt hold their passions in check. Im not saying she deserves ridicule or hostility, but she doesnt deserve praise either.

As someone who is the product or a teen pregnancy and my parents were together for the first 5 years . You should still feel sorry for the baby . I had the two parents but they fought and it wasnt what a child needed . Now its better since my parents have remarried and i have 3 siblings so the feel sorry for the baby question made me mad. As for a long time it was just my mom supporting two kids when we stayed with her. But i think all those questions were just rude and unnecessary. Also her baby was literally so adorable ☺️

Is it just me that want to give Kim Jiwoo a big hug? From these two videos she sound like a really wise and strong person. What better way is there to be a parent?! And asking about getting help from your country... Isn't the whole point of living in a decent society to help each other out when we need it? I'm really proud of Bom, Yumi and KyoJyn as well. I would have torn apart more papers than Yumi....I would probably have cursed a whole lot more
