I was wondering how she got to watch all kinds of tv show while in North Korea and then she said her father was a smuggling. hihi Good for her and her family to have been out. His father was a smart man for saving up and having a connection with smuggling so they had a connection outside to help them escape. North Korea is currently awful but I think we shouldn't forget we all still live in a (capitalist) world where freedom is a joke. I work 6 days a week for less than 600€ per month (I live in Europe so no, that's not a lot of money for us), I don't have a house, I currently live at my grandparents' place. (I am 25, have a university degree, masters, job experience, speak a few languages...) and still I can't even dream of freedom and independence, since housing where I live costs more than my current salary and food is getting more and more expensive every day, and the government forbids limiting or controlling the food companies' benefits, meaning every company is free to raise the price of basic products as much as they want as long as people will buy it (which we will because we need to...eat...and that kind of stuff). Don't forget reality is not "communism=bad because Stalin and Kim Jong-un, capitalism=good because freedom".
@ilovesushi73112 ай бұрын
@@putosguirisThat's so true. To be fair, I believe that it doesn't matter where you go (be either north korea or any capitalist country), if there's a bad leadership, then you have a bad life. Although, any communist country is doomed to a degree of struggle because there will always be a certain country that will make sure to butt in and not let their capitalist empire is threatened. (I'm talking about you, US)

The US is willing to support communist regimes i.e China, Vietnam, Laos. All trading parners of the US. China and the states do speakagainst eachother. But despite there political and millitary hostilitys they trade a lot. So does Vietnam and Laos. The US is less about ideology (even if they talk about it a lot) and more about intrestes. @MiYuma404 Russia does indeed appear to be headed towards a more brutal form of dictatorship. The problem when you start a conflict and people begin to lose family members, friends, lovers, when these people start coming back terribly scarred from the conflict, you generate intense hostility. And that makes you paranoid for your life, which, in turn, causes you to become more brutal to root out plots (real or imagined) against you. The thing is, you never know who might one day be believed to be a threat because it is entirely subjective. Even supporters can be targeted. I don't think Putin has a long enough lifespan to reach the levels of Pol Pot, but he definitely will cause a lot more damage before he is replaced - regardless of the cause. This is why Russia has seen an increase in repression and brutality from the regime.

Yes Vietnam has no border with Thailand, but since Vietnam is also a socialist country, they definately ban north korean defectors.

탈북 후에도 중국에서 공안한테 잘못 걸리면 강제북송당하기때문에 굉장히 위험.

i really like this girl!!! I would ask her so many questions if she were facing me and if she ever writes a book about her life in North Korea and also about how they escape, i'd definitely read it! She's such a sweetheart too

i don't really know what to say... insane if you imagine how messed up this version of life is no person ever should have to go thru something that sad especially a as kind hearted person as her.
