I appreciate your video. It was fair. Unbias. Interrogating the public for a good idea about the country. We can see our positive and negative sides. Unlike Nigerian vloggers with only bias negativity, you as a South African got to understand us. We need more people like you. Another good foreigners i met among us Africans are; Cameroonians, Malagasy and Kenyans.

people seem mostly nice but the guys 10:22 were very rude in my opinion 😟
@thefinancialmetaverse
@thefinancialmetaverse Жыл бұрын
Yes. The people are very nice. I think the guys 10:22 were just lost in translation because they didn't know what was going on. Including the lady who sent me to the guys. Initially I thought she was calling security on me, but it turns out that she was just trying to help. I guess it helps to know a little French in Mauritius.😅
@yumechan1402
@yumechan1402 Жыл бұрын
@The Financial Metaverse haha I also thought she was calling for security at first 😅 yes , it could be they were just confused by the situation as they could not speak nor understand English 🤗 but speaking a bit of French definitely helps in Mauritius 🇲🇺

The lady said she only speaks French and then said "you need to ask these guys", pointing to them. But the security guard told him to ask the other security Gaurd he pointed to.. they were all trying to direct him to someone who they thought would speak English..

Unemployment amongst the creole community is cronic. Partly due from being poorly educated and the gradual power of hindus in the country which excludes them ! A visit will confirm quickly they are marginalised and downtroden in their own country

@@oz-zy The Creoles are racist towards the Hindus
@gordonspicer
@gordonspicer Жыл бұрын
@@oz-zy There is certainly a distinct "pecking order" in Mauritius. On 'top" the white colonials most from France, South Africa and in smaller numbers UK & other EU countries mixed with mostly successful rich asian establishment, professionals and those in major commerce. Then comes the Hindus who now dominate the country's commerce, pharmacies and higher levels of nursing. Finally, no surprise, the almost indigenous Creole community in the more meanial positions. In my opinion neither is very attracted or attached to each other. That is not to say there is some "fludity" and social movement nut the invisable ceilings & structures are mostly fixed for the time being. I have heard Mauritan creoles uttering racist comments towards the ever growing Hindu community.

@@gordonspicercreoles are no indigenous. They are given the name creole for being mixed french-bantu or malagasy-mixed. Some indo-bantu mixed do identify them as creole too but in reality most creole are mixed with indo. Racism don't talk. Creoles get employment opportunities as anyone, and yet some have the audacity to be racist towards indo-Mauritians(hindu, muslim or chrisitian) or with sino-Mauritians. Its hypocrisy.

very few tourists ever see the real mauritius. They laze about in pamered beach side 5 star hotels and maybe go on a guided tour or two. The country has very low GDP, terrible infrastructure, high crime rate, and their driving is best not spoken about as well as thez stray howling dogs everywhere. THe question is who is fiddling the books there ?
