Have you ever shared with you audience how you came to be in SK, how you learned Korean so well and where you are from, and how you started your street interviews videos? College is still your best bet, assuming you major in something marketable. For every person who made it big without a degree, you have 10 more who would have made a lot more money if they went to college.
@arohisengupta6366
@arohisengupta6366 Жыл бұрын
for the average person who does not want to go into an unconventional field, college is the best bet. it is being rejected by those who already know that they can make it in life without college. these people either have generational wealth, family businesses, ability to monetize their looks, creative talent that they have polished, or all of them. these are also not things the average person is born with. and even with creative talent, 98% people have never put the effort to polish it so liking fashion or being able to sing/dance (which might be more common) will not cut it either. you have to attain refinement which is a LOT of work. people who refine them have also spent a majority of their time subconsciously and compulsively refining them out of instinct. college, in a way, is an easier way up the ladder for most.

That's only partially correct. It's true that by law tattoos in Korea are only allowed to be made by people with a medical license. However, there are dozens of tattoo shops everywhere and I have yet to meet a tattoo artist in Seoul with a medical license 😂 Barely anyone has one because it doesn't get checked. Everyone know that, but no one cares. And even though it's illegal by Korean law, that law is kinda irrelevant.

I'd be super curious how many of them are nepobabies of some sort. Having a carefree attitude about your kids is something you need to be able to afford.
@roar5853
@roar5853 Жыл бұрын
tbh all of them are doing business that nepobabies wouldnt do and usually rich family never let their child live without diploma since it is pretty taboo in Korea to not gradute uni or college. no one looks nepobabies here. based on their attitude, life story, what they do, they look like selfmade. stereotypical image of nepobabies in Korea are the kids with pretty good diplomas which is indirectly bought by their parents money(school coordination, expensive hobby, donation etc). when someone said they did not go uni and jumped into the world for experience and didnt had much problem with that with their parents, usually it means their parents were not even middle class and more likely from low class. that is why there are words like 'highschool grads miracle' exists in Korea. it does not mean only a success of person who has no diploma but also it means low class kid becoming successful person. usually it is a symbol of selfmade not nepobabies with free minded parents. Korean rich families are obsessed with diplomas. most of rich ppl all around does tho.

@roar5853 Жыл бұрын
Wealth gives their children the privilege of having everything without giving up anything. They go to good universities, enjoy expensive hobbies, and explore their passion. To be honest, it is naive to think that children of wealthy families will have no pressure on academic background, not to know how obsessed the rich are with class reproduction.

@SaffariRose Жыл бұрын
I agree. There's soooo many artists and creatives across ALL genres that require video work. Kpop industry alone debuts hundreds of groups per month. I didn't even include all the KZbinrs, film and drama industry, commercial films (Cfs), etc which tend to be high budget. So as a video director, that amount is actually quite small compared to the bigger video companies that routinely direct for the bigger acts. Good for him though, he seems pretty humble/down to earth.
@notofuspeed
@notofuspeed Жыл бұрын
Agreed, it would be from other gigs or investments, not being a tattooist with gun in hand. Whatever he is doing I wish him continued success, he seems legit cool. Regarding my assumptions based on his money being a different source...I've gotten a large piece from an artist based in Garosugil (another high end area in Gangnam). I believe I paid approx 3.5mill KRW / 2,750 USD for 8 sessions of about 3-4 hours, which is like 85-150USD per session. No artist works 8 hours a day 5 days a week non-stop imo, its just not that kind of work. Even if they were paid 200 USD per session, say working a calculated average of 5 days a week at 4 hours a day that is about 16K per month. Or if you want to max it, a 160 working hours month at 300 USD per hour is 48K (which imo is an impossible workload for a tattooist). And in Seoul in general you seem Lambo's here and there, more in Gangnam area obviously, but its not a rare site, you can also do luxury car leases for a reasonable price too.

Interesting interview, I always hang out at Apgujeong Rodeo to go shopping, never really thought about the crowd that goes there. The super-wealthy aren't going to be there usually, they go to less trendy places and can be found near Hannam, and Jamsil. They likely wouldn't disclose their earnings either, they're so hard to see in real life unless you go to the same areas they frequent. I met/know many such people, you wouldn't know their income level just by looking at them. They're usually plain and unassuming.

The Koreans are really reserved, and the people that have much more money in Korea you don't found them in the streets like that, they are more private

Kids, there's one easy advice to becoming rich: never become an employee, only an entrepreneur. The reason is that if you're an employee, there's only so high your salary can increase. Whereas if you're an entrepreneur, the sky is the limit. It all depends on a successful business plan and obtaining the best contracts for gigs.
