Thanks for having me! I do just want to say to anyone watching this, it has taken years to grow my production business AND Make Pop Music. I got super fortunate that timelines and opportunities lined up for me and I’m grateful for it every day. I also will say, yes I make great money, however there is a lot behind the scenes. Even at $300k a year in total revenue, my businesses have overhead, commissions, we hire other producers, taxes, and the money is split 50/50. So just because you see $300k doesn’t mean I made $300k. It means the businesses make that and my wife and I end up with 60% of that split down the middle. It’s still amazing, but if you’re getting into the business realize that you won’t get to touch all the money you technically make. Keep track of your accounting and always remember tax season 😂

This was awesome. It would be really cool if it was possible to do the same kind of video but more indepth with each kind of income stream that these people have. Of course, you wouldn't want to be intrusive about it, but it would be so awesome to show a deeper nuts and bolts approach to each kind of income stream that these, or similar individuals many have. None the less, still a very eye opening video. thank you.

I think the most interesting takes were from the film composer. They were all awesome. But it's surprising to see how well a film composer is doing using social media. All of my commissions in short films and such are from social media but my following is very small so needless to say I have a day job lol. But seeing a young film composer with such a big instagram following is incredibly inspiring. Thank you for this video!

Honestly, I lack the confidence to be on camera, struggle to find ways to showcase my music with social content, and tend to make music that a verrrrry small amount of people connect with. My dream would be to have multiple revenue streams that all stem from music and creativity. It's so hard to see how to take that first step.

After watching this video, I feel as if I live in the ass of the world. And it is partly so. I am from the western part of Ukraine. As if I can do something, as if I write great music, as if I can shoot quality videos and I do it. But I have little views, I have practically no income for the last 2 years, especially after the war began. In larger and more important countries, people quickly become famous and receive money for living. I just don't have anything. It is very difficult not to get discouraged by this 🤷🏻♂️

This is a really biased sample of musicians that are close to you in the internet space. I do composition for TV and adverts, make bank and never show my face anywhere ever. I know many session songwriters and producers who are doing great just producing music for artists...

This video exposes a lot. It's not about having talent, it's about can THEY use you to sell their products. The whole industry is a mess

indeed. the people who do survive from music are a rarity. these are music content creators, but not actually great as producers or musicians.

Not always the case. Different people just have different jobs and offer different services and skills. I was doing very well as a full time producer before I made a dime on sample packs, courses, etc. But sometimes people thrive being educators, entertainers, and content creators. That’s not a bad thing. There’s room for everyone 😊
@jacksp8deКүн бұрын
How? It’s a business so you have to do business stuff. This is great for creatives
@GingerDrums17 сағат бұрын
Like I said in my comment above, this is a really biased sample toward the internet space. There are tons of producers, songwriters and industry professionals who are members of teams and professional networks that don't need to produce content drivel.
@romeowcatКүн бұрын
PLV, please stop doing the human emoji/reaction thumbnails. It's getting hard to pick out your videos from the ocean of other music production channels that do the same thing. You're way more creative and talented than them but the thumbnails tell a very different story which is a shame.
