He's cute, sure, but from what i can see in these videos not really that smart. I mean not 'exceptionally smart' let alone a genius. He's just doing normally well for a kid his age. Which considering all the screen time he also seems(!) to be getting is ni small feat. Way to go Jack. I mostly like his sweet and caring gestures that i see in some videos, that always touches me and gives me hope for his future and tells something about his parents (and other people around him) generosity. I’m a first year physical therapist student. Sunny’s walking caught my attention! you want to avoid letting your kids sit in the frog “w” position! It causes hip anteversion, and the in toeing you see. She most likely has dysplasia of the hip, something to mention to your PCP or a PT in your area. It’s a common thing for children from birth to 1 year!

We had a walker toy like that for my first son at 9 months. He walked across the living room twice with it, then he let go and just started walking! I wasn't ready for that! So, if you aren't ready for Sunny to take off walking....just kidding! It's a great toy for learning to balance. Sunny really has grown up a lot in the last couple of months. What she us doing is called W sitting and strengthens the muscles that turns her legs in. Therapist's discourage ALL W sitters. She may not be able to externally rotate her hips to sit. Good idea to have pediatrician see her and see what they say.

Derik, don't be sad abt Jack's answers! There are lots of logical, non-favoritism reasons why a child answers this way. My kids answered like this a lot, & I was a single mom! 💔 At the time, it crushed me, but I look back & know my kids loved being with me. ❤❤❤ I remember crushing my dad, telling him I don't love him & "don't say that" (*eyes closed, arm to forehead*) because I heard it on my mom's SOAP OPERA! @TheBeestonFam I'm sorry for the unsolicited advice, but @5:18 made me just a little nervous. (the hair just about stood up on the back of my head). That looks like rattlesnake habitat. I don't know the elevation you were at, or if there are rattlesnakes in that area, but, as an old field herper, i'd almost bet money that there are, and that looks like the exact sort of place where i would encounter them. Elevation makes a difference, but some species can be found at altitudes up to 11,000 feet. I don't think i'd let him go running ahead like that, but would walk with or ahead of him, stay ON the path, and look first at where i'm about to set my feet. I don't think that Jack is old enough to have the situational awareness necessary to run ahead safely. I know people who have had their dogs bitten, by letting them run ahead in that type of terrain.

* snakes, of all kinds, do come out onto those little dirt paths to sun themselves and warm up. I have encountered them sleeping on paths like that, so it can be easy to startle them, (which you don't want to do). I will say that Jack was doing a pretty good job of stomping around and making noise, though. 😄👍
