@@SouthernCrossGO On weekends it's horrendous a huge number of Denpasar locals go for a weekend drive up to Ubud on weekends, even on a bike it can be slow going but in a car it's crazy you could get out and walk back to Denpasar quicker, week days are much better to go.

Visited Bali for the first time in October. Stayed in Seminyak. Will never return to Bali again. Shopkeepers & bar trying to rip off the tourist. Either short change or load up the price they charge. Every second shop a massage parlour or tattoo shop. Traffic is stupid and thank god for grab as taxi drivers are absolute nightmare to deal with. Nope not for me.

100% agree, heres a post I made about Bali: Bali is a S hole, from the garbage, the pollution to the stray dogs to the armed guards making sure no one can come on that hotels part of the beach. To the corrupt law enforcement to the condescending attitude of the Indonesians to Australians (utter hatred in some parts) to the genocide and torture in East Timor people and the same still happening today in West Papua! Indo care about Australians as much as the Balibo 5 - but our Govt still gives them $Millions of taxpayer money each year. Been there once, will never go back.

For you I recommend never venturing out of your comfort zone.. Australia is the place for you, and that’s where you should stay!

@@mattgimblett8424 The first 5 seconds sums Bali up. Might have some nice spots but the amount of rubbish everywhere is a sign the people don’t give a shit and have no pride and just greedy. I’ve just returned back from Vietnam. Soooo much better in every way. Seems it’s only city people who haven’t been anywhere else seem to think Bali and it’s filth is a nice place.

Went back to Bali (Seminyak ) two weeks ago - last time was 20 yrs ago. TA / Cruise Company booked a hotel on Jl Petitenget - 7 nights - couldn't believe how crap that area was - and didn't want to stay. Mosquitos... sorry motorbikes everywhere - damned annoying, going any which way they want. 20 yrs ago there was the crap copy handbags, shoes, and other junk - and yet.... it's still there, pity those trying to sell that garbage. Wha I also found that this faux boutique stuff - overpriced designer clothing in the middle of the rest of the crap - it's appeal has long gone for me - and I wont be back. Oh... and Sutherland Shire born and bred and lifetime resident here as well - see it's a small world :)
