It shows that even if you’re making a decent salary, financial worries can still creep in. I think for a lot of people, it’s not just about how much they make, but how well they manage what they have. If you’re investing or planning ahead, it can make a huge difference
@Andres_853Ай бұрын
Totally. I mean, let’s say you’re making good money now, but if it’s not working for you long-term, it’s not enough. I’ve been thinking about how to invest smarter and have a better idea of where I’m headed financially. It's a bit overwhelming though, with all the options out there
@camela8445MarАй бұрын
You know, my cousin actually met with a Certified Financial Planner, Nora Jean Erickson, to get help with exactly that. She offers a free consultation, so you can get a feel for her approach before committing. My cousin said it really helped him see the bigger picture-like what he needed to do now to secure his future goals
@Kattyol1Ай бұрын
Oh, I’ve heard of her! I didn’t realize she offered a free consultation. It might be nice to get some professional insight. I’m interested in building up my portfolio, but I’m never sure when I should invest more in stocks or maybe look at other options like bonds or even real estate
@Robby767Ай бұрын
Yeah, that's the thing. And Nora Jean Erickson's advice isn’t just generic. She looks at what makes sense for your goals and comfort level with risk. I have a friend who talked with her, and they went over things like retirement savings, taxes, and other ways to make the most of his income. He was impressed with how personalized it felt
@Churchillhump2268Ай бұрын
That’s exactly what I’d need. I don’t want just anyone giving me advice; I’d rather have someone who’ll look at my specific situation and give me options that fit my goals. If I’m working hard now, I want to make sure it actually pays off

Were those salaries before or after tax? Does Singapore provide free medical insurance? Correct me if I am wrong but the problem in Singapore is real estate. If that is somehow taken care of, you can manage with very little, eat well etc. Make a video about rent and mortgage payments. And utilities.
@lunazero43310 ай бұрын
It doesn't matter whether it's before or after tax because there it's pretty much the same thing anyway. After the tax reductions you'd pay less than 5% of your earnings for the year... which is usually less than your year end bonus. So yeah, you wouldn't even notice the amount you lose to taxes. As for free medical insurance, it does provide some for citizens. Most citizens get subsidies but may still have to pay a little.

Singapore does not provide free medical insurance. However, we have Medishield which is compulsory for all Singaporean and PR, and is paid by our CPF. Our medical bills are also subsidized based on individual / family earning, which is called mean testing. Basically, if you earn more then u pay more. This health financing system allows Singapore to have enough resources to improve our healthcare system and avoid users from abusing the system (like the free universal healthcare system).
