Just a random comment. Normally, if I see someone taking video, and I'm in the shot, I shy away and hide. Weird for an extrovert. So go figure that I meet a guy from an extremely famous metal band (the most famous, in fact) and we end up shooting scenes of a music video, of which I have a dual role. We people are weird.

You guys already have multiple people working as a crew on these videos, it would be fairly easy and make a huge difference to have crew members mic’d and planted near the reacting people, maybe some hidden shotgun mics, really though I think a plant is the best option, plant a crew member with a mic next to the seated crowd or walking just behind your target, so you can hear the reactions after you walk away
